RELIEF ASSIGNMENTS AND TERM POSITIONS. When a permanent position becomes temporarily vacant, the following shall When the City does not require any of the duties of the position to be performed during the temporary vacancy, it may choose not to fill the vacancy. When the City finds it operationally necessary to assign some of the duties of the vacant position to one or more employees, it shall do so in accordance with Article The appointed shall be paid at the higher classified rate of pay for each hour spent in the performance of these duties. Relief Assignments shall be to a position that has a classified rate of pay that is equal to or higher than the relief employee's classified rate of pay, unless otherwise directed by the City, and shall be filled as follows: The senior qualified on the crew (or in the department if no crew exists) shall fill temporary vacancies of up to thirty (30) days. The senior qualified in the department shall fill temporary vacancies in excess of thirty (30) days. Where the senior does not wish to accept the relief the City shall continue to offer the relief to qualified employees in order of seniority. Where an employee has refused a relief assignment, he shall have no claim to that relief assignment in the event of a layoff. The City shall document such a refusal. Where no employee accepts the relief assignment the City may appoint the least senior qualified employee to the relief assignment. If directed by the City, the employee required to fill a relief position that has a lower rate of pay than his classified rate of pay shall maintain his classified rate of pay during the relief assignment. Once the initial temporary vacancy has been filled, subsequent vacancies may be filled from within the crew (or department if no crew exists). When a permanent becomes vacant as a result of an employee being on approved leave due to long-term disability, the position shall be posted and filled in accordance Article It shall be stated on the posting that the position vacancy is one of limited term not exceeding two (2) years from the date upon which the absent employee commenced long- term disability.   • Relief Assignments 3.1 All possible regular relief assignments with five days work per week and two consecutive rest days (subject to Rule 2) shall be established to perform necessary relief work or to perform relief work on certain days and such types of other work on other days as may be assigned under this Agreement.

  • Additional Assignments The Contractor further agrees to, and if applicable, cause each of its employees to, execute, acknowledge, and deliver all applications, specifications, oaths, assignments, and all other instruments which the City might reasonably deem necessary in order to apply for and obtain copyright protection, mask work registration, trademark registration and/or protection, letters patent, or any similar rights in any and all countries and in order to assign and convey to the City, its successors, assigns and nominees, the sole and exclusive right, title, and interest in and to the deliverables.   • Shift Assignments When an opening occurs in a shift assignment in an appropriate work group at a location, preference shall be given to employees within the classification who possess the training, ability and any required special qualifications to perform the work required, on the basis of seniority. In the event that no employee desires a shift assignment, employees shall be selected in order of inverse seniority. This provision shall not apply to necessary training assignments. This provision shall not in itself alter the practice of rotating shifts where such practice presently exists. No employee who has a regular shift assignment on the effective date of the Agreement shall be involuntarily displaced from such shift assignment as a result of this Article.

  • Training Assignments The Supervisor or designee may establish written training assignments to enable an employee to gain the additional experience and training required for the job for a period of time not to exceed two years. At the completion of the training assignment, the employee’s pay will be set no less than the entry rate of pay for the occupational pay band.

  • Housing Assignments The University assigns Licensee to a bed space and does not guarantee specific room types, buildings, communities, or roommates. The University shall have the right to reassign the Licensee to a different bed space without the Licensee’s consent prior to or during the term of the Agreement.

  • Overtime Assignments When needed, overtime work for full-time employees shall be scheduled among qualified employees doing similar work in the work location where the employees regularly work in accordance with the following:

  • Teaching Assignments No employee shall be assigned to teach in a grade level and/or subject area not within the scope of his/her teaching certificate, except where a position within his/her certification is unavailable or when mutually agreed to by the affected employee and principal, or when determined necessary by the principal. Employees assigned to positions outside the scope of their certificates shall be assigned as soon as possible to positions for which they hold certification.

  • PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND ASSIGNMENTS (In 2011, the Florida Legislature passed statutory changes eliminating the granting of new Professional Service Contracts and prohibiting the School Board from following the requirements outlined in Sections 14.1, 14.1-1, 14.1-2, and 14.1-3 of the contract below. These provisions are therefore placed in abeyance until all legal challenges have been resolved. All other Sections beginning with 14.2 remain in full force and effect.)

  • ASSIGNMENT AND SUB-LETTING Tenant shall not assign this Agreement, or sub-let or grant any license to use the Premises or any part thereof without the prior written consent of Landlord. A consent by Landlord to one such assignment, sub-letting or license shall not be deemed to be a consent to any subsequent assignment, sub-letting or license. An assignment, sub-letting or license without the prior written consent of Landlord or an assignment or sub-letting by operation of law shall be absolutely null and void and shall, at Landlord's option, terminate this Agreement.

  • Assignment of the Contract ‌ The Contractor shall not sell, transfer, assign, or otherwise dispose of the Contract or any portion thereof or of any right, title, or interest therein without prior written consent of the Division. Any such purported assignment or transfer shall be void. If approved, any assignee shall be subject to all terms and conditions of this Contract and other supplemental contractual documents. No approval by the Division of any assignment may be deemed to obligate the Division beyond the provisions of this Contract. This provision includes reassignment of the Contract due to change in ownership of the Contractor. The Division shall at all times be entitled to assign or transfer its rights, duties, and/or obligations under this Contract to another governmental agency in the State of Mississippi upon giving prior written notice to the Contractor.
