Resource Nurses a. If a resource nurse works on one of the holidays set forth in paragraph A above, he/she will be paid for all time worked on said holiday at one and one-half times his/her regular straight-time hourly rate of pay.
Resource Nurses. 21 a. If a resource nurse works on one of the holidays set forth in 22 paragraph A above, he/she will be paid for all time worked on said 23 holiday at one and one-half times his/her regular straight-time 24 hourly rate of pay.
Resource Nurses. Resource nurse will be hired into a unit and will report 21 to the unit manager.
22 1. Resource nurses must submit availability for four shifts per four- 23 week scheduling period, pursuant to the process outlined in paragraph 2 below.
24 a. One of those shifts must be on a weekend.
25 b. At least two of the shifts in a calendar year will be on a 26 holiday (which will be rotated between winter (New Year’s Day, 27 Thanksgiving Day, or Christmas Day) and summer holidays (Memorial 28 Day, Fourth of July, or Labor Day)). Xxxxxxxx worked as the result of a 1 nurse trading a winter holiday for a winter holiday with another nurse 2 and/or trading a summer holiday for a summer holiday with another nurse, 3 with approval of the unit manager, will satisfy the holiday requirement. In 4 addition, if a Resource nurse agrees to work a holiday shift for another 5 nurse (outside of the trades described above) with the approval of the unit 6 manager, that xxxxxxx will satisfy the holiday requirement. The manager 7 will give consideration to those nurses, if any, who are were denied the 8 ability to take PTO/Vacation, in determining whether to grant approval.
10 2. Process. The Medical Center will use the following process to
12 a. After scheduling regular nurses, the Medical Center will 13 identify holes (or gaps or open shifts) in the schedule, which may include 14 pending vacation/PTO requests for holidays.
16 b. The manager on a unit will communicate those holes (or 17 gaps or open shifts) to the Resource nurses.
19 c. From among the holes (or gaps or open shifts) in the 20 schedule, a Resource nurse will indicate a minimum of a four shifts for 21 which he/she is available.
23 d. If a unit manager/scheduler is unable to identify a list of 24 holes (or gaps or open shifts) in the schedule, each Resource nurse will 25 still submit at least four shifts for which he/she is available.
27 e. The Medical Center will assign shifts to Resource nurses 28 beginning with the first nurse who submitted his/her availability and 29 proceeding in order of the date and time that the nurse submitted his/her 30 availability.
1 f. Regular failure to submit the required minimum availability 2 will result in termination of the Resource nurse’s employment.
Resource Nurses. Resource nurses hired after ratification
Resource Nurses. Resource nurses hired after ratification shall be subject to the requirements of Article V. H.
Resource Nurses. Resource nurses shall be eligible for health insurance benefits as provided below:
a. New resource nurses are eligible for insurance coverage if they have had a minimum of 780 compensated hours during a six (6) month initial measurement period. An initial measurement period is defined as a six-month period commencing on the first of the month following the employee’s date of hire. Insurance coverage for such employees shall begin on the first of the month following one month after the end of the initial measurement period, and will continue for a period of at least six (6) months. New resource nurses will qualify as ongoing resource nurses after they have worked an entire ongoing measurement period as defined in (b) below.
b. Ongoing resource nurses are eligible for insurance coverage if they have had a minimum of 780 compensated hours during the most recently completed six (6) month ongoing measurement period. A six-month ongoing measurement period is defined as either December through May or June through November. Insurance coverage for ongoing resource nurses shall begin on either the January 1 or the July 1 following the ongoing measurement period and will continue for a period of six (6) months.
c. Resource nurses are not eligible for contributions toward benefit coverage or for opt-out cash benefits.

At least two of the shifts (eight or twelve hour shifts as defined by the unit’s core schedule) in a calendar year will be on a holiday (which will be rotated between winter (New Year’s Day, Thanksgiving Day, or Christmas Day) and summer holidays (Memorial Day, Fourth of July, or Labor Day)). Holidays worked as the result of a nurse trading a winter holiday for a winter holiday with another nurse and/or trading a summer holiday for a summer holiday with another nurse, with approval of the unit manager, will satisfy the holiday requirement. In addition, if a Resource nurse agrees to work a holiday shift for another nurse (outside of the trades described above) with the approval of the unit manager, that holiday will satisfy the holiday requirement. A resource nurse’s seniority will be calculated based on the sum of 3 their last continuous employment by the Medical Center as a resource 4 nurse, at the rate of one (1) year of seniority for every three (3) 5 completed years of employment as a resource nurse. Partial years will 6 be credited, if needed, at the rate of one-third (1/3rd).
8 b. Seniority for any Registered nurse moving between resource and non-
10 a bargaining unit position (with the 1:3 calculation for time as a 11 resource nurse, as noted above).
