RESTORATION OF HOURS. In the event the number of hours of work are reduced for any employee or group of employees within a department or school, and budget funds are restored to that department or school within the following twelve (12) months, the District shall, when practicable, give priority to reinstating the hours to the affected employees before hiring additional staff in the employee’s classification within the department or school. In addition, if the position is reinstated before the beginning of the employee’s scheduled work year following its elimination, the employee may return to his/her previous position. An employee whose work hours are reduced may submit an online application indicating the positions for which the employee is interested.

RESTORATION OF HOURS. In the event the Employer increases the number FTEs in a work area on other than a temporary basis, employees working in that classification in the work area, at a reduced FTE under section 16.7, shall, in the order of seniority be assigned the additional FTE hours up to their FTE before the reduction, if the employee is working on the same shift as the additional hours and the assignment is consistent with scheduling requirements. If the employee rejects the assignment, the employee will not be entitled to the benefit of this provision thereafter. Open positions occasioned by, e.g. termination or transfer, shall be posted for bid under Section 5.7.
RESTORATION OF HOURS. An Assistant whose hours are reduced pursuant to Section B-6 or D, above, may file a written notice of desire to restore lost hours within his/her building/program. If the Assistant has submitted such notice, he/she will be considered in seniority order, if qualified for vacant or new positions within the employee's building/program and classification, before recalls, transfers or new hires are considered.
