Rights of Seniority. All other factors being equal, seniority will be used to determine transfers or promotions, if any, of employees. Other factors are defined to include qualifications and competence to perform the work. If the senior employee is not promoted, consideration shall then be given to the next senior employee in the bargaining unit who has applied for the position. Section 5 - Vacancies A. (1) When a new position has been approved, the position will be posted within five (5) working days. The Director of Food Services will notify the Board of a vacancy. The Board shall post the notice of vacancy for three (3) working days in all buildings where all employees work. Said notice shall include job title, scheduled number of hours, wage scale and qualifications. The Board shall post new jobs or a job vacancy in the kitchen area. Postings will be placed on and subsequently removed from the designated bulletin boards by the Food Services Director or his/her designee.

Rights of Seniority. For the purpose of this Agreement seniority represents in the highest degree, the right to work, and by seniority the oldest man in point of service, ability and fitness for the job being sufficient, and is the last laid off, proceeding so on down the line to the youngest in point of service.
Rights of Seniority. A tenured faculty member shall be entitled to rights of seniority as provided in 110 ILCS 805/3B-5, of the Illinois Public Community College Act.
