Role of the Authority. The role of the Authority under this Activity Agreement will be to provide, through Authority staff or contracts with consultants, and as directed by the Management Committee, services to assist the Activity Participants in conducting the activities contemplated by this Agreement. The Authority will provide only those services directed by the Management Committee and supported with funding from the Activity Participants in accordance with budgets recommended by the Management Committee and approved by the Board of Directors and the Activity Participants, as more specially provided under the terms of this Agreement.

Role of the Authority. The Authority was established to oversee the performance of An Garda Síochána in relation to policing services in Ireland under An Garda Síochána (Policing Authority and Miscellaneous Provisions) Xxx 0000, which amends Xx Xxxxx Xxxxxxxx Xxx 0000 (“the Act”). Subject to the Act, the Authority is independent in the performance of its functions. The overarching role of the Authority is to oversee the performance by An Garda Síochána of its functions relating to policing services. The Act provides that in doing so, the Authority shall: • Set priorities and performance targets for An Garda Síochána; • Approve a Strategy Statement and Annual Policing Plan submitted by An Garda Commissioner; • Keep under review: a. the performance by An Garda Síochána of its functions; b. the arrangements and strategies in place to support and enhance the performance of those functions; c. the adequacy of: i. the corporate governance arrangements and structures within An Garda Síochána; ii. the arrangements for the recruitment, training and development of the members and members of the civilian staff of An Garda Síochána; iii. the mechanisms in place within An Garda Síochána for the measurement of performance and accountability of such members and staff; and iv. the arrangements for managing and deploying the resources available to An Garda Síochána so as to ensure the most beneficial, effective and efficient use of those resources; • Hold so many meetings with the Garda Commissioner as are necessary for the performance if its functions, at least four of which each year may be attended by the public and the media be permitted to broadcast; • Keep itself generally informed as to: a) complaints made against members of An Garda Síochána and the application of the Disciplinary Regulations; and b) trends and patterns in crimes committed; • Undertake, commission or assist in research projects in respect of matters relating to policing services, which in the opinion of the Authority, may: a) promote an improvement in standards for those matters and public awareness of them; or b) contribute to a reduction in the number of complaints against members of An Garda Síochána in relation to those matters; • Monitor and assess measures taken by An Garda Síochána in relation to recommendations made in a report of the Garda Síochána Inspectorate. Role of the Authority. Cuan is a statutory body, established under the Domestic, Sexual and Gender-Based Violence Agency Act 2023 (“the Act”), dedicated to tackling and reducing domestic, sexual and gender-based violence (DSGBV). It is a body corporate with perpetual succession and an official seal and power to sue and be sued in its corporate name and to acquire, hold and dispose of land, an interest in land, or any other property with the consent of the Minister and the Minister for Public Expenditure, National Development Plan Delivery and Reform. The statutory functions of Cuan, as set out in section 6 of the Act, are: a) to plan, coordinate and monitor the development of refuge accommodation for victims of domestic, sexual or gender-based violence; b) to provide support to service providers, including financial assistance, for the provision by them of— i. services delivered in refuge accommodation and other services for victims and persons at risk of domestic, sexual or gender-based violence, and ii. programmes with the purpose of preventing, and reducing the incidence of, such violence; c) where so requested by the Minister, to prepare, and submit for the approval of the Minister, standards for the provision of the services and programmes referred to in the above; d) to monitor adherence by service providers to the standards referred to above e) to compile and publish information regarding the availability of the refuge accommodation referred to in paragraph (a) and the services and programmes referred to in paragraph (b); f) to develop and implement public campaigns, and provide advice or support in relation to the development of public campaigns by public service bodies and other persons, for the purposes of— i. increasing awareness of domestic, sexual and gender-based violence and the associated risk factors, and ii. reducing the incidence of such forms of violence; g) where requested by the Minister, to provide him or her with— i. such assistance as he or she may require in the development or evaluation of strategies and plans in relation to domestic, sexual or gender-based violence, and ii. in such form and frequency as the Minister may specify, reports on the implementation of such strategies and plans; h) to coordinate, oversee and provide advice and support, as appropriate, in relation to the implementation by public service bodies of the strategies and plans referred to in paragraph (g); i) to undertake, commission, assist or collaborate in research (including the...
Role of the Authority. Except to the extent requested by a Member with respect to lands within its boundaries, the Authority will serve primarily a coordinating and administrative role in order to provide for sustainable groundwater management of the Basin in a m anner that does not limit any Member’s rights or authority over its own water supply matters, including, but not limited to, a Member’s surface water supplies, groundwater supplies, facilities, operations, water management and financial affairs. Subject to the provisions, limitations and restrictions contained in this Agreement, activities unrelated to coordinating and administrative tasks necessary for groundwater management shall not be undertaken by the Authority.

Related to Role of the Authority

  • Obligations of the Authority (i) The Authority shall, at its own cost and expense, undertake, comply with and perform all its obligations set out in this Agreement or arising hereunder. (ii) The Authority shall be responsible for the correctness of the Scope of the Project, Project Facilities, Specifications and Standards and the criteria for testing of the completed Works. (iii) The Authority shall, upon submission of the Performance Security as per the RFP by the Contractor, shall provide to the Contractor: (a) No less than 90% (ninety per cent) of the required Right of Way of the Construction Zone of total length of the Project Highway within a period of 30 (thirty) days from the date of this Agreement, which shall be in contiguous stretches of length not less than 1( One) kilometre. (b) approval of the general arrangement drawings (the “GAD”) from railway authorities to enable the Contractor to construct road over- bridges/ under- bridges at level crossings on the Project Highway in accordance with the Specifications and Standards, and subject to the terms and conditions specified in such approval, within a period of 60 (sixty) days from the Appointed Date, and reimbursement of all the costs and expenses paid by the Contractor to the railway authorities for and in respect of the road over- bridges/ under bridges; and7 (c) all environmental clearances as required under Clause 4.3.8 (iv) Delay in providing the Right of Way or approval of GAD by railway authorities, as the case may be, in accordance with the provisions of Clause 3.1 (iii) shall entitle the Contractor to Damages in a sum calculated in accordance with the provisions of Clause 8.3 of this Agreement and Time Extension in accordance with the provisions of Clause 10.5 of this Agreement. For the avoidance of doubt, the Parties agree that the Damages for delay in approval of GAD by the railway authorities for a particular road over-bridge/ under-bridge shall be deemed to be equal to the Damages payable under the provisions of Clause 8.3 for delay in providing Right of Way for a length of 2 (two) kilometre for each such road over-bridge/ under-bridge.

  • Power and Authority; Due Authorization The Servicer has all necessary power and authority to (i) execute and deliver this Agreement and the other Transaction Documents to which it is a party and (ii) perform its obligations under this Agreement and the other Transaction Documents to which it is a party and the execution, delivery and performance of, and the consummation of the transactions provided for in, this Agreement and the other Transaction Documents to which it is a party have been duly authorized by the Servicer by all necessary action.

  • Power of the Authority to undertake works (i) In the event the Parties are unable to agree to the proposed Change of Scope Orders in accordance with Clause 13.2, the Authority may, after giving notice to the Contractor and considering its reply thereto, award such Works or services to any person or agency on the basis of open competitive bidding. It is also agreed that the Contractor shall provide assistance and cooperation to the person or agency who undertakes the works or services hereunder. The Contractor shall not be responsible for rectification of any Defects, but the Contractor shall carry out maintenance of such works after completion of Defect Liability Period of work by other person or agency during the remaining period of this agreement without any extra payment. (ii) The Works undertaken in accordance with this Clause 13.5 shall conform to the Specifications and Standards and shall be carried out in a manner that minimises the disruption in operation of the Project Highway. The provisions of this Agreement, insofar as they relate to Works and Tests, shall apply mutatis mutandis to the Works carried out under this Clause 13.5.
