Shift Cycles. Other shift cycles, and the premium pay in respect to such cycles, may be established by the Parties, and will become effective such are approved by the Liaison Committee or ratified by the Coordinating Committee and by the Council, through whatever ratification process the Coordinating Committee and the Council shall each determine.
Shift Cycles. (a) All shift cycles shall not last less than twelve (12) calendar days, nor more than thirty (30) calendar days. The foregoing shift cycle lengths may be lessened or extended to allow a shift change on employees’ scheduled days off.

a) Shift Cycle 1 – 4 days of 10 hours, followed by 3 days off
b) Shift Cycle 2 – 5 days of 10 hours, followed by 2 days off
c) Shift Cycle 3 – 8 days of 10 hours, followed by 6 days off
d) Shift Cycle 4 – Day 1 at 6 hours, Day 2-13 at 10 hours, Day 14 at 6 hours e) Shift Cycle 6 – 14 days of 12 hours, followed by 14 days off
Shift Cycles. (a) The standard shift cycle will be scheduled as follows, but the commencement and/or end of each shift may be varied by fifteen (15) minutes to provide for the exchange of patient information for continuity of care and/or, an appropriate length of meal period:
(i) 12 midnight 8 a.m. 4 p.m to to to 8 a.m. 4 p.m. 12 midnight or (ii) 11:30 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. 3:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. or (iii) 11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. (iv) 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. 7:30 p.m. to 7:30 a.m.
(b) Where standard shift cycles are to be changed so that they are different from those specified in clause B6.05
(a) the employer, except in cases of emergency, will consult in advance with the Institute on the timing of such cycles and in such consultation establish that such cycles are required to meet the needs of the public and/or the efficient operation of the Service.
(c) It is understood that consultation shall be held at the local level and will be referred to the appropriate Institute levels before implementation.
(d) It is understood by the parties that the provisions of clauses B6.05 (a), (b), and (c), will not be applicable in respect of employees whose work week is less than thirty-seven and one-half (37 ½) hours per week.

h) Shift Cycle 8 – 6 days of 11.5 hours, plus 1 day of 11 hours, followed by 7 days off
i) Shift Cycle 9 – 7 days of 12 hours, followed by 7 days off For Shift Cycle 1 regular scheduled cycle shall consist of 40 hours at straight time rate of pay. For Shift Cycle 2, 3, 4 and 5 regular scheduled day shall consist of eight (8) hours at straight time rate of pay and two (2) hours at overtime rate of pay. For Shift Cycle 6 regular scheduled cycle shall consist of 160 hours at straight time rate of pay and eight (8) hours at overtime rate of pay. For Shift Cycle 7: the regular scheduled cycle shall consist of 80 hours at straight time rate of pay.

Shift Cycles. The Employer will define the shift cycle for each project as agreed to in the Pre-Job Conference report. With respect of averaging as stated in the Employment Standards Code of Alberta and any regulations enacted thereunder are incorporated into this Agreement. If there is any conflict between the Employment Standards Code of Alberta and any regulations enacted thereunder and this Agreement, the terms of the Employment Standards Code of Alberta and any regulations enacted thereunder shall prevail.
