Shutdown Period. The Company may schedule a shutdown period for general maintenance at any time during the year. The Company will schedule staff, where necessary, for shipping, maintenance, and security of product. No employee shall be scheduled against their will; however, where insufficient employees are available, the required employees may be assigned in the reverse order of seniority. Employees may take the shutdown time as banked overtime or vacation (to the extent the employee still has such time unused).
Shutdown Period a) The Company agrees to close the plant for a period of Two (2) to Four (4) weeks at a time most suitable to the business, during the months of July and August (“Annual Shutdown”). Notice of the date of the annual shutdown will be posted on April 1st of each year, and prompt action will be taken to schedule the vacation of employees. Except for those whose services are required during the shutdown, employees who are entitled to a vacation will take their vacation during the shutdown period. Additional vacation beyond the designated shutdown week(s) for those so qualifying must be taken in agreement with the Plant Manager, but may be taken at any agreeable time between January 31st and the end of the calendar year. Consideration will be given to take such additional vacation between January 1st and January 31st subject to management agreement. b) In the case where two employees choose the same date(s) for vacation, the senior employee requesting the vacation will be given preference, subject to the other provisions of this article XIII. c) In addition to the Annual Shutdown, the Company, at its sole discretion, can set additional full plant or partial plant shutdown periods during the year (“Additional Shutdowns”). By June 1st of each year, the Company shall announce all Additional Shutdowns for the remainder of the calendar year. By October 1st of each year, the Company shall announce all Additional Shutdowns for the period covering January to June of the following year. Employees affected by the Additional Shutdown may reschedule their vacation to the Additional Shutdown periods or may be temporarily assigned to another occupation, or assigned to a training opportunity.
Shutdown Period. The Company may schedule an annual shutdown period. In the event that a shutdown is confirmed, the dates of the shutdown will be announced, and employees will be advised as to whether or not they will be required to work at least thirty (30) days prior to the beginning of the shutdown.

  • Meal Period A Contractor shall schedule an unpaid period of not more than 1/2 hour duration at the work location between the 3rd and 5th hour of the scheduled shift. A Contractor may, for efficiency of operation, establish a schedule which coordinates the meal periods of two or more crafts. If an employee is required to work through the meal period, the employee shall be compensated in a manner established in the applicable Schedule A.

If the relevant circumstances are continuing on or after the date immediately following the end of the Clean Up Period, there shall be a breach of representation or warranty, breach of covenant or Event of Default, as the case may be, notwithstanding the above (and without prejudice to the rights and remedies of the Lenders as set forth in Section 8.02 hereof).

  • Normal Work Day The normal work day shall be eight (8) hours and the normal work week shall be forty (40) hours, Monday through Friday, provided however that nothing herein shall be construed as guaranteeing any EMPLOYEE eight (8) hours of work per day or forty (40) hours per week. A single shift shall consist of eight (8) hours of continuous employment, except for unpaid lunch period, between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.
