ANNUAL SHUTDOWN Sample Clauses

ANNUAL SHUTDOWNAn annual shutdown will occur at the end of spring semester for maintenance, upkeep and replacements of the UAB University Recreation’s equipment. You will be notified prior to this shutdown and expected to clean out all lockers prior to this event.
ANNUAL SHUTDOWN. (1) Except as provided for in subclauses (2) and (3), every employer who wishes to observe an annual shutdown of the establishment or department thereof in terms of the provisions of this clause shall apply to the Regional Council concerned at least nine months in advance of the intended shut-down of the establishment or department thereof, as the case may be, and shall have first obtained the consent of the Regional Council Committee before implementing these provisions of the Agreement. (2) Employers who were observing an annual shutdown arrangement for the purpose of the paid leave prior to the coming into operation of this Agreement shall be deemed to be observing an annual shutdown and are not required to advise the Regional Council concerned of the observance of that arrangement. (3) Every employer entering the Industry after the commencing date of this Agreement shall, within one month of commencing operations, advise the Regional Council concerned whether the leave provisions of the Agreement or, alternatively, an annual shutdown, will be observed. (4) Where an annual shutdown is to be observed, the establishment (or department, as the case may be) shall be closed for such unbroken period as will enable employees who have qualified for paid leave in terms of clause 12(3) of this Part of the Agreement to take their full paid leave extended by any days that must be added in terms of clause 12(3)(c), and the period of the closure shall, as near as practicable, fall between the same dates in each 12-month period. (a) Any employee who at the date of the closing of an establishment in terms of subclause (4), is not entitled to the full period of the paid leave prescribed in clause 12(3) of this Part of the Agreement shall be paid leave pay and the leave enhancement pay referred to in clause 14 of this Part of the Agreement proportionate to the qualification for the paid leave completed at the date of the closing of the establishment. The employment of any employee thus affected shall be deemed to commence from date of re-opening of the establishment (or department, as the case may be) for the purpose of his qualification for his next paid leave. (b) Notwithstanding anything to the contrary contained in this Agreement, any employee who actually worked all available shifts during the period from the first day after the previous year‘s annual shutdown up to and including the last shift preceding the current shutdown shall be entitled to full pay and leave e...

ANNUAL SHUTDOWN. 34.1. Australian Progress will shut down for normal operations for three (3) weeks surrounding Christmas and New Year’s Day. 34.2. Australian Progress will give not less than six (6) weeks notice to staff on the exact dates of the annual shutdown. 34.3. In addition to the three (3) public holiday days, Employees will be required to take five (5) ADO’s pro-rata and seven (7) days pro-rata of annual leave for this period. 34.4. Any Employee who has not accrued sufficient annual leave to cover part or all of the annual shutdown closure, will be given the option of taking either leave without pay, accrued TOIL, or annual leave in advance in order to cover the remainder of any closure period and as authorised by the Employer. 34.5. Any leave (paid or unpaid) taken by an Employee as a result of the closure counts as service with Australian Progress, for the purpose of any service-related entitlements.
ANNUAL SHUTDOWNThe Site shall as a general policy close between Christmas Day and New Year’s Day. To facilitate essential and priority work, the Site will remain open for a period to be agreed to with the EPMT and the SPF.
ANNUAL SHUTDOWN. 25.1.1. The Firm shuts down at the end of each year for a maximum period of 2 weeks and 1 day ("Annual Shutdown"). 25.1.2. The Firm will provide Employees with notice of the Annual Shutdown at least 3 months in advance. 25.1.3. Unless otherwise advised by the Firm, Employees are required to take annual leave, Shutdown Leave, Service Leave, unpaid leave or time in lieu during the Annual Shutdown.
ANNUAL SHUTDOWN. During a period of annual shut down an employee may be required to take annual leave up to a maximum amount of two weeks per annum. The employer will give one month’s notice in writing to such employees. If an employee does not have enough accrued annual leave to cover the period of the shutdown, they will be given leave without pay.

ANNUAL SHUTDOWNThe Employer may temporarily close down all or part of its operations for business needs during such occasions as the Christmas/New Year period. The Employer shall give at least four week's notice of its intentions to shut down the business. Employees may be required to take accrued Annual Leave during this period.
ANNUAL SHUTDOWN a. Clause 30.11 applies if an employer: i. intends to shut down all or part of its operation for a particular period for the purpose of allowing annual leave to the employees concerned or a majority of them (temporary shutdown period); and ii. wishes to require affected employees to take paid annual leave during that period. b. The employer must consult with the employees concerned by providing them with information about the shutdown, invite the employees to give their view about the impact of the shutdown and consider any views given by the employees about the impact of the shutdown. c. The employer must give the affected employees 45 days’ written notice of a temporary shutdown period, or any shorter period agreed between the employer and the majority of relevant employees. d. The employer must give written notice of a temporary shutdown period to any employee who is engaged after the notice is given under clause 30.11c. and who will be affected by that period as soon as reasonably practicable after the employee is engaged. e. The employer may direct the employee to take a period of paid annual leave to which the employee has accrued an entitlement during a temporary shutdown period. f. A direction by the employer under clause 30.11e.: i. must be in writing; ii. must be reasonable; and
