Sick Leave Review. (a) The Review Panel will comprise two employer representatives (one of whom will be the Health & Safety Advisor, or, in their absence, an HR representative), one APEX staff representative and the appropriate service manager. Participation in the panel by the staff representative will be paid for at ordinary pay. (b) Referral of a concern to the Panel will be done via Human Resources. If a matter is referred to the Panel, Human Resources will: (i) arrange the Panel meeting (ii) notify the employee in writing, including invitation to bring support and provide a copy of this clause. The review will endeavour to assist the employee in establishing practical arrangements to recover from sickness and/or identify the possible issues contributing to the sickness and make recommendations where appropriate. The panel will: (i) explain the concern to the employee (ii) ask for explanation (iii) consider the explanation and any evidence available

Sick Leave Review. No employee shall be placed on sick leave review unless he/she has first received an oral warning that his/her individual attendance record is marginal, followed by a written confirmation. Upon request, an employee shall be given a profile documenting his/her attendance record. The Countywide sick leave average as stated in the S.L.I.C.E. Report is a tool to trigger the review of an employees’ attendance record. Exceeding the Countywide average is not in and of itself an indicator of sick leave abuse for an individual employee. If an employee is placed on sick leave review, he/she is to be provided with a written statement explaining the reason and the length of time his/her attendance is to be monitored and the additional requirements placed on the employee to document future absences.

Sick Leave Review. When an employee is requested by the employer to meet regarding a review of their sick leave, the employee shall be informed by the employer that they may have union representation present. The employee shall be given 24 hours notice of the said meeting.
Sick Leave Review. Generally, prior to taking any disciplinary action for sick leave misuse and/or corrective action for excessive absenteeism, the Bureau will conduct a sick leave review. The purpose of the sick leave review is to provide the employee the opportunity to identify the specific reasons for the sick leave, and to assist the employee in a cooperative effort to alleviate the cause of the problem. An employee who exceeds twelve (12) occurrences of non-protected sick leave in a calendar year may be required to attend a sick leave review. “Occurrence” is defined as any period of absence from work due to usage of non-protected sick leave. Consecutive work days that are not broken by any day off (for example, weekend, protected time or vacation) shall count as one (1) occurrence. As an example, if an employee uses non-protected sick leave for two (2) consecutive work days because the employee is suffering from cold symptoms, that will count as one (1) occurrence of non-protected sick leave.

  • Sick Leave Reimbursement An employee who has received sick leave benefits for injuries caused by a third party shall be obliged, in the event such employee undertakes an action for recovery of damages against the third party, to seek recovery of the total cost of wages and benefits paid to the employee while on sick leave. The employee shall be obliged to reimburse the Employer to the extent the employee succeeded in recovering such wages and benefits. This provision includes claims made to ICBC.

  • Sick Leave 1. Employees will be granted one (1) day for each month of their contract year. Payment for unused sick days will be made to the employee upon that employee’s early or full service retirement or, upon the employee’s death, to the employee’s estate. Employees eligible for early or full service retirement who resign from employment and do not receive a retirement benefit, shall forfeit all rights to payment for unused sick days. b. Employees, who have a balance of less than 250 unused sick days as of June 30, 2002, will receive payment for 50% of the employee’s accumulated unused sick days up to a maximum of 250 unused days at their average daily rate*. c. Employees who have a balance of unused sick days greater then 250 days as of June 30, 2002, will receive payment for 50% of the employee’s accumulated unused sick days up to their June 30, 2002, unused sick leave balance, at their average daily rate*. d. Payments for unused sick days in amounts greater than $5,000 will be paid in equal amounts over five consecutive years beginning with the year of retirement. e. Payments for unused sick days in the amount at $5,000 or less or for the death of an employee will be paid in a lump sum to the employee or the employee’s estate in the year of retirement or death.

  • Sick Leave Records A record of all unused sick leave will be kept by the Employer. Immediately after the close of each calendar year, each employee shall be advised of the amount of sick leave accrued to their credit.

  • Sick Leave Policy It is the policy of the State of Ohio to not unreasonably deny sick leave to employees when requested. It is also the policy of the State to take corrective action for unauthorized use of sick leave and/or abuse of sick leave. It is further the policy of the State that when corrective and/or disciplinary action is taken, it will be applied progressively and consistently. It is the desire of the State of Ohio that when discipline is applied it will serve the purpose of correcting the performance of the employee.

  • Sick Leave Abuse ‌ When the Employer suspects sick leave abuse, the employee will be provided the opportunity to explain the circumstances surrounding their sick leave use prior to disciplining the employee, or making reference to sick leave use in the employee’s performance evaluation. The Employer may not adopt or enforce any policy that counts the use of paid sick leave time as an absence that may lead to or result in disciplinary action for an authorized purpose. The Employer may not discriminate or retaliate against an employee for the use of paid sick leave for an authorized purpose.

  • Sick Leave Plan The benefits of the Company’s Sick Leave Plan shall be considered as part of this Agreement. However, it is recognized that its provisions are not an automatic right of an employee and the administration of this plan and all decisions regarding the appropriateness or degree of its application shall be vested solely in the Company. The Company’s Sick Leave Plan will provide that probationary and regular employees will commence with a credit of eight days at 100 percent (100%) and 15 days at 75 percent (75%) pay, payable from the first day of sickness. This credit will continue to be available until the employee attains his/her first annual accumulation date as a regular employee. At the time of this accumulation date and each subsequent accumulation date he/she will acquire additional credits of eight days at 100 percent (100%) pay and 15 days at 75 percent (75%) pay. The accumulation of credits will be subject to the provisions of the Company’s Sick Leave Plan. Regular part-time employees shall receive a pro-rated number of sick days. When a regular part-time employee is absent due to illness on a scheduled day of work, they shall be paid for the hours of work scheduled for that day provided sick leave credits are available. Normally employees will be expected to arrange routine medical or dental appointments during non-working hours. Where such appointments cannot be arranged during non-working hours and the employee can be released from his/her duties, then the time shall be charged against an employee's sick leave time except in the case of medical appointments of less than half a day where normal earnings will be maintained. Employees who are on sick leave for 30 days or more may be eligible to participate in a vocational rehabilitation program in accordance with the Company’s policy. All major medical absence forms will be completed for any absence of four (4) continuous days/shifts or more or when requested by management. The Company will compensate the employee for the cost associated with completing these forms up to a maximum of $30.00. Additionally, the company will compensate the employee for the full cost of all medical notes, medical forms or medical information required to support LTD or other Wellness programs. This provision applies to Doctor’s notes requested by Line Management as part of the administration of the sick leave plan. Employees will be required to submit all forms required by management through their personal physician. Sick Leave benefits are conditional upon receipt of these forms and it is the responsibility of the employee to ensure that the employer receives these forms within a reasonable period of time. Any discipline related to sick leave that is imposed and grieved by the union will be referred directly to Xxxxxx Xxxxxxxxx for resolution.

  • Sick Leave Payout No cash payment for unused sick leave will be paid to any employee leaving the service of the Employer.

  • Vacation; Sick Leave During the Employment Term, the Executive shall be entitled to not less than four (4) weeks of vacation during each calendar year and sick leave in accordance with the Company’s policies and practices with respect to its executives.
