Stewards and Union Representatives. Those employees acting as stewards and/or Union representatives shall not receive preferential treatment with regards to shift or job assignments. The Employer agrees, however, that such employees shall be reassigned because of operational needs only and not because of legitimate Union activity.

Stewards and Union Representatives. Section 6.1 The Company acknowledges the right of the Union to appoint one xxxxxxx. In the event that the xxxxxxx is out of town or on holidays or sick, the stewards position would be temporarily filled by the assistant xxxxxxx during that period of time. Section 6.2 It shall be the xxxxxxx’x duty to process grievances outlined in Article 7 of this Agreement. The xxxxxxx’x duty shall in no way conflict with his duties to his Employer and he shall be held responsible for the same quantity and quality of work as other employees. Should the Company believe that the xxxxxxx’x activities are affecting the quality and quantity of either the xxxxxxx’x work or the work of the other employees, the Company shall contact the Business Representative of the Union who shall attempt to settle the matter of the Company complaint, and in default of reaching such settlement the matter shall be submitted to grievances and, if necessary to arbitration as hereafter provided. Section 6.3 The Union will inform the Company in writing the name of the xxxxxxx and of any subsequent change in the name of the xxxxxxx until such notification from the Union has been received. Section 6.4 For the purpose of processing specific grievances or disputes, Business Representatives and stewards shall have access to specific trip sheets and time cards in dealing with the specific grievance. Section 6.5 A representative of the Union shall be allowed to enter the Company’s office to deal with the administration of the Agreement providing he does not interfere with the normal operation of the Company. If a Party’s Representative becomes unavailable, the Party shall promptly appoint another Representative. Acts and omissions of Representatives shall be deemed to be acts and omissions of the Party. If the responsibilities of the Chapter Grievance Representative require rescheduling of the representative's University duties, the representative may, with the approval of the Xxxxxxx, arrange for the rescheduling of such duties or their coverage by colleagues. Such approval shall not be unreasonably withheld. The provisions of Article 15.4. shall also apply to the UPI Local Grievance Representative if he or she is an employee of the University.

  • Right to Have Union Representative Present (a) An employee shall have the right to have her xxxxxxx present at any discussion with supervisory personnel which the employee believes might be the basis of disciplinary action. Where a supervisor intends to interview an employee for disciplinary purposes, the supervisor shall make every effort to notify the employee in advance of the purpose of the interview in order that the employee may contact his/her xxxxxxx, providing that this does not result in an undue delay of the appropriate action being taken. This Article shall not apply to those discussions that are of an operational nature. (b) A xxxxxxx shall have the right to consult with a Staff Representative of the Union and to have a local Union Representative present at any discussion with supervisory personnel which the xxxxxxx believes might be the basis of disciplinary action against the xxxxxxx, providing that this does not result in an undue delay of the appropriate action being taken.
