Student Requirements. You must be concurrently enrolled at NSCC (at least one class) and the Host institution to be eligible for financial assistance. You must notify the Financial Aid Office at NSCC of any changes in your enrollment status at the host institution immediately. In the event of non-attendance or withdrawal from any or all classes, you will be responsible for repayment of financial aid received according to applicable federal and institutional regulations. Student must review the Homestay Contract with their host family and return a signed copy to the DHS. • Unless other payment arrangement is made as part of a group, independent student attending longterm programs (greater than 4 weeks) pay host family directly on a monthly basis. • Student agrees to pay stipend within the first 3 days of the month. • On 2-meal plans, breakfast and dinner are included on school days (Monday to Friday). On weekend (Saturday and Sunday) and holidays, 3 meals per day are included. • Student who are vacationing and traveling away from their host family’s home for 4 consecutively nights pay their host family the private room rate only without meals. Student must provide written notice of travel plans 7 days in advance to host family. • Student agrees to participate in daily home life and activities. • Student agrees to clean up after themselves in the kitchen, bedroom, bathroom, and shared areas. • Student agrees to prepare and pack their own breakfast and lunch on the 3-meal plan. • Student agrees to pay for long distance telephone calls. • Student must respect and obey the host family’s household rules. • Student may not bring guests to the host family’s home without prior permission. • Student is responsible for any damages to host family’s property that is made by the student. • Student wishing to move prior to the end date of the Homestay Contract must give the host family 30 days written notice, or pay the equivalent amount. Student Requirements a. Each student may be required, as a condition for participation in the clinical experience program, to submit the results of a health examination to the College/University and, if requested, to the Facility, to verify that no health problems exist which would jeopardize student or patient welfare. The health examination shall include an update of required immunizations including influenza. The health examination shall include a Mantoux test or chest x-ray and verification of immunity for rubeola and rubella. A list of those students with positive Mantoux or negative rubeola/rubella results may, at the request of the Facility, be provided to the Facility.
b. Students participating in the clinical experience program shall be encouraged to carry their own health insurance.
c. Students participating in the clinical experience program shall be responsible for carrying their own professional liability insurance if professional liability insurance is not provided by the College/University.
Student Requirements. 3.1 All students are on probation throughout the entirety of the course and can be removed at any time should they not comply with The LHA and VTCT rules and conduct, this includes attendance, behaviour, missed deadlines and any other violations.
3.2 To complete the course, students must attend all lessons. No additional holidays are permitted during term time other than those scheduled in your timetable, failure to attend regularly will result in not passing the course.
3.3 All students are required to be punctual to class and arrive at the centre 15 minutes prior to the lesson start times published for your course. If you cannot attend the Academy or are late for any reason you must notify the centre manager.
3.4 You must always present yourself professionally and adhere to the academy rules and guidelines for dress, personal appearance and behaviour. The LHA operates a zero tolerance in respect of rules governing this requirement.
3.5 Deadlines must be met for all case studies and assignments / tasks unless an extension has been agreed with your tutor due to exceptional circumstances.
3.6 You must notify us of any change of address and any other personal information changes.
3.7 All holidays are to be arranged on study weeks.
3.8 Students are required to act as model for one another during training.
3.9 Photography will take place on the premises, on days out and may be posted on social media, online platforms and publications. Learners agree to inform the academy beforehand if this may be an issue.
3.10 All students at the LHA agree to follow all academy procedures as published or advised in your student guide and induction seminar.
3.11 VTCT, The LHA & Employment standards must be met at all times. If they are not met assessments will not be passed.
3.12 Assessment days, practical days and theory daysl must be attended unless notified in writing (with evidence) and agreed by your course tutor & centre manager. Failure to do so can result in additional tuition needed at the end of the programme, should this be the case extra tutoring this will be charged at the rate of £30 per extra hour needed. Please refer to section 2.4.
3.13 It is essential that a photographic portfolio of evidence is kept up to date throughout the course and is ready to submit at the end of the course. You are required to take responsibility for maintaining your portfolio.

Each Student will be required, as a condition for participation in the clinical experience program, to submit the verification of required immunizations to the College/University and, if requested, to the Facility which shall include the following immunizations and tests as per CDC guidelines: (i) a complete Hepatitis B vaccination series; or a signed waiver, which would require additional evaluation of the Students individual circumstances regarding the use of the signed waiver; (ii) annual TB screening (including chest x-ray, if applicable); (iii) MMR vaccination(s) or positive titer(s); (iv) varicella vaccinations or a varicella titer. A list of those Students with positive Mantoux or negative rubeola/rubella results may, at the request of the Facility, be provided to the Facility.
