Supplemental Employment Benefits. (SEB) Plan When a pregnant teacher takes a maternity leave to which she is entitled pursuant to the Employment Standards Act and this collective agreement, the Board shall pay the teacher:
a. ninety-five per cent (95%) of her current salary for the first two (2) weeks of the leave and:
b. where the teacher is eligible to receive EI Maternity Benefits the difference between eighty per cent (80%) of her current salary and the amount of EI Maternity Benefit received by the teacher for a further fifteen (15) weeks.
c. The Board shall register a Supplemental Employment Benefits (SEB) Plan Agreement required by the Employment Insurance Act in respect of such maternity payments.
d. Any payment of SEB benefits shall be restricted to the period of the regular work year of the teacher.
e. Teachers who take maternity leave must exhaust all Employment Insurance Maternity Benefits under this SEB Plan before claiming any sick leave benefits.
Supplemental Employment Benefits. An Employee who is eligible for benefits pursuant to Article 16.01, and who is eligible to receive E.I. Pregnancy or Parental Benefits from Service Canada, and who is eligible to receive Pregnancy/Parental Leave under the Employment Standards Act, 2000, will receive, upon application, 100% of the Employee's full pay during the two (2) week waiting period before E.I. benefits commence. For the following three (3) weeks the Employee's E.I. benefits will be supplemented to 100% of the Employee's full pay. During this five (5) week period there will be no deduction to the Employee's sick leave account. Such payments shall not be made if the employee accessed the sick leave gratuity plan and/or the E.I. waiting period has been waived.
Supplemental Employment Benefits. When a pregnant employee takes the maternity leave to which they are entitled pursuant to the Employment Standards Act, the Employer shall pay the employee
a. ninety-five percent (95%) of their current salary for the first two weeks of the leave and,
b. where the employee is in receipt of Employment Insurance benefits, the difference between 95% of their current salary and the amount of EI benefits received by the teacher for a further 15 weeks.
Supplemental Employment Benefits a. The plan is to provide supplemental employment insurance benefits to the teacher for the period during which they are entitled to maternity leave under the Employment Standards Act (B.C.).
b. For the first ten (10) days of the teacher's maternity leave the benefit shall be as follows:
i. The Board shall pay the teacher the equivalent of ninety-five percent (95%) of their regular salary payment.
c. For those weeks in which the teacher is entitled to employment insurance benefits, the Board will pay to the teacher a top up to fifty-seven and one-half percent (57.5%) of their current salary for fifteen (15) weeks during the period of maternity leave.
d. It is understood that in any week, the total amount of Supplemental Employment Benefits, Employment Insurance gross benefits and any other earning received by the teacher will not exceed ninety-five percent (95%) of the teacher's normal weekly earnings.
e. The teacher shall be entitled to benefits from this plan during the specified waiting period for employment insurance benefits.

f. The teacher shall be further entitled to benefits, within the limits specified herein, while in receipt of Employment Insurance Maternity Benefits. No benefits will be paid under this section until the teacher has provided proof to the Board of receipt of Employment Insurance Maternity Benefits.
g. The maximum number of weeks for which benefits are payable under this plan for any one pregnancy is seventeen (17) weeks.
h. The plan shall be financed from the general revenues of the Board. Payment of Supplementary Employment Benefits will be kept separate from payroll records.
i. The parties will register the plan with the Canada Employment and Immigration Commission and the Board will inform the Commission of any changes to the plan within thirty (30) days of the effective date of such changes.

Supplemental Employment Benefits a. The Board agrees to maintain a Supplemental Employment Benefit (SUB) plan in terms acceptable to the Board, the Association, and Human Resources and Development Canada (HRDC).
b. When the SUB Plan is registered and approved by HRDC, the Board will pay to an employee on authorized pregnancy leave under this agreement:

25.01 In recognition that there will be a physical and/or mental health related portion of any maternity leave during which a woman may be medically unfit for duty as an employee due to pregnancy, delivery or post-delivery, such employee shall be eligible for Supplemental Employment Benefits (SEB) Plan benefits if she is:
a) on maternity leave;
b) medically unfit for duty for health-related reasons due to pregnancy, delivery or post-delivery; and,
c) in receipt of Employment Insurance benefits or serving the two-week waiting period.
25.02 Effective the first of the month following the date of ratification, every employee who is eligible for SEB Plan benefits in accordance with Article 25.01 above shall, provided she makes application as described in Article 25.03 below, receive benefits for a period of twelve (12) weeks commencing the date of delivery, without being required to provide medical evidence. SEB Plan benefits will only be paid for days for which employees would normally receive pay.
25.03 An employee shall apply to the Employer for SEB Plan benefits, using forms established by the Employer, no later than one hundred and twenty (120) calendar days following the birth of her child.
25.04 The amount of SEB Plan benefits provided shall be the amount required to supplement the employee’s Employment Insurance benefits up to 95% of her normal weekly salary entitlement, subject to the usual deductions required.
Supplemental Employment Benefits a) For the two (2) weeks of Employment Insurance waiting period, the NAC will pay the employee ninety-five percent (95%) of her regular earnings. These payments are subject to income tax and may be subject to Canada or Quebec Pension Plan premiums.
b) For the balance of the Maternity (15 weeks) and Parental leave (10 weeks), to a maximum of twenty-five (25) weeks, the NAC will pay the employee the difference between ninety-five percent (95%) of his/her regular earning and the weekly rate of the Employment Insurance benefits received under the Employment Insurance Act. These payments are subject to income tax and may be subject to Canada or Quebec Pension Plan premiums. For Quebec residents under QPIP, for the Maternity Leave (15 weeks), Paternity Leave and Parental Leave combined (10 weeks), to a maximum of twenty- five (25) weeks, the NAC will pay the employee the difference between ninety-five percent (95%) of his/her regular earning and the weekly rate of the Quebec Parental Insurance Plan benefits received under the Act respecting Parental Insurance in Quebec. Supplemental Employment Benefits. 2.9.1 The Board agrees to maintain a Supplemental Employment Benefit (SUB) plan in terms acceptable to the Board, the Association, and Human Resources and Development Canada (HRDC).
2.9.2 When the SUB Plan is registered and approved by HRDC, the Board will pay to an employee on authorized maternity leave under this agreement:
2.9.2.1 75% of her current salary for the first two weeks of the leave; and
2.9.2.2 where the employee is eligible to receive and does receive Employment Insurance benefits, the difference between 75% of the employee's salary and Employment Insurance benefits received by the employee for a further 15 weeks.
2.9.3 Employees have no vested interest in the SUB plan other than to receive benefits when eligible to do so.
