Temporary Instructor. Whenever an employee is assigned to formally instruct another employee, he/she shall receive one dollar ($1.00) per hour additional to his/her applicable rate of pay for such time so assigned. Whenever an employee in a foreworker classification or clerical is assigned or directed to conduct orientation or classroom instruction or to prepare instructional material as his/her primary assignment for any part of a day, he/she shall receive one dollar ($1.00) per hour additional to his/her applicable rate of pay for such time so assigned. These provisions shall not be applicable to incidental instruction by foreworkers or the clerical classification in the course of an assignment, if such instruction is not specifically his/her primary assignment during any such hour. To be eligible for instructor pay, an employee must be assigned by the District to specifically instruct or train an employee on a specific job. When an employee is assigned to work with another employee on a day- to-day basis, or in cases of familiarization, orientation (including OJT) no instructor pay is due. Temporary instructors for Maintenance and Clerical Subunit training shall be selected from among the classification being trained, whenever practical, to accommodate special training needs. Temporary instructors shall be paid at the applicable instructor premium while assigned to training.
Temporary Instructor. Whenever an employee is assigned to formally instruct another employee, he/she shall receive two (2) hours straight time compensatory time for every eight (8) hours so assigned.
Temporary Instructor a) An hourly-paid employee can be selected to act as an instructor on a temporary basis. The duration of this position shall be a minimum of one (1) scheduled shift and not exceed six (6) months in any calendar year. The position will be awarded on an ability basis, unless several employees with equal ability in reference to the job opening apply, then seniority will determine who fills the vacancy. The employee selected shall not be eligible to fill the next vacancy pertaining to the immediate previous unless both Union and Management cannot find a mutually satisfactory replacement with suitable qualifications. Tow Crew Qualified license holders may bid on Tow Crew lines within the Ground Service Occupational Group. These employees will receive the appropriate Tow Premium pursuant to Clause herein for each tow performed. The Tow Crew employees will be assigned tows in an equitable basis subject to operational requirements. Other and tow employees will form the backup tow pool and may be assigned tows when such tows cannot be performed by the Tow Crew personnel due operational towing commitments or absence.
Temporary Instructor. (a) A bargaining unit member may, at their option, be selected to act as an instructor on a temporary basis.
