Uniforms and Special Clothing. 32.1 The Employer will provide and clean, at no cost to the employees, any designated uniforms or special clothing which is required by the Employer to be worn on the job. Such clothing will be mended or replaced by the Employer as necessary due to normal wear and tear. 32.2 Prior to any decision by a department head to purchase or modify uniforms, employees in their respective departments shall be given an opportunity to consult with their department head regarding the color, fabric, and style or uniform to be worn. The department head shall consider seasonal temperatures in the selection of uniforms. The department head will consider the wishes of the employees in making a decision. 32.3 Any clothing which is furnished by the Employer shall be worn in accordance with the applicable rules or safety regulations. 32.4 The Employer will reimburse employees for personal uniforms, work clothing, and/or necessary personal items (e.g. eyeglasses, hearing aids, watches) damaged, torn, or destroyed during normal work activity or by patients, clients, or customers. Such reimbursement shall be based on estimated current value of the damaged article to a total of two hundred dollars ($200). 32.5 Safety Boot Reimbursement (Seattle Main Campus Facilities Only): As determined by the Employer, individual departments may reimburse employees up to one hundred dollars ($100.00) per year during the life of this agreement for protective footwear meeting the performance requirements of ASTM F2413-11 relative to impact or compression of the toe or metatarsal, puncture resistance or electrical hazards or static dissipation, if required as personal protective equipment.

Uniforms and Special Clothing. The Employer reserves the right to require employees to wear uniform(s) or special clothing. If an employee is required to wear a uniform(s) or special clothing, such uniform(s) or special clothing shall be furnished to the employee by the Employer. In lieu of providing such uniform(s) or special clothing, the Employer will pay an allowance for such uniform(s) or special clothing which will reimburse the employee for the total cost of the purchased item(s). The quantity, quality and replacement frequency for uniform(s) or special clothing may be discussed at Labor Management Meetings at the request of either party.
Uniforms and Special Clothing. The MOA will furnish and maintain uniforms and special clothing only where such uniforms and special clothing are required by the MOA or applicable OSHA or other applicable safety regulations. Any such uniforms or special clothing provided by the MOA shall be returned to the MOA upon termination of the employee’s employment. If the MOA no longer furnishes and maintains uniforms and special clothing required by the MOA or applicable OSHA or other applicable safety regulations, the parties agree to meet and confer.
Uniforms and Special Clothing. The MOA will furnish, launder and maintain uniforms and special clothing only where the MOA or applicable federal and/or state safety regulations require such uniforms and special clothing. Any such uniforms or special clothing provided by the MOA shall be returned to the MOA upon termination of the employee's employment. Uniforms will be provided in sufficient quantity to meet the needs for an employee's regular workdays within a two- week period. The employee will be liable for loss or damage to uniform(s) not directly attributed to work. For AWWU only, the following will be provided in addition to the foregoing: A. All AWWU employees covered by this agreement will be provided a clothing allowance of three hundred dollars ($300.00) per year per employee to cover the cost of cold weather work clothing and gear. The allowance will be provided during the first full pay period of September of each year. Employees are responsible for laundering and upkeep of all clothing acquired by the employee. B. AWWU will continue to provide hip boots, rubber boots, rain gear and work gloves. AWWU shall continue to maintain existing laundry facilities at the current work locations, available for use by employees for clothing other than that specifically provided by the MOA, however, such laundering will be done on their own time. C. If an employee becomes contaminated with wastewater, chemicals, or other odorous contaminants during working hours, that person will be given adequate time to shower or clean up during their shift.

Uniforms and Special Clothing. The Corporation will continue its present practice regarding supply of clothing and footwear for Animal Control Officers and uniformed members of the Traffic Department. The employer agrees to clean up to three (3) pairs of coveralls per mechanic per week in the Public Works Department. For all other employees of the bargaining unit, the Corporation will provide up to $250.00 per employee per year for the purchase of clothing of a type designated from time to time by the Corporation, such sums to be paid only for actual purchases. Any portion of the amount unused by any employee in any calendar year will not be held over into the following year. Each employee shall be responsible for obtaining his/her own clothing and keeping his/her clothing laundered, cleaned and in good and orderly condition. All employees must dress in an acceptable fashion. The foregoing does not include rainwear, safety equipment or protective coveralls which the Corporation will continue to supply as in the past.

Uniforms and Special Clothing. 7.4.1 Where an employee, is required by the employer to wear a uniform, cap, coat, overall, or other uniform dress, it shall be provided, maintained and laundered at the employer’s expense. 7.4.2 Where the nature of the work performed by employees necessitates suitable industrial clothing, including waterproof clothing and/or aprons, rubber boots or clogs, work boots, work shoes, gloves, goggles etc., they shall be supplied and paid for by the employer.
Uniforms and Special Clothing. When required for the convenience and benefit of the County, employees may be required to wear uniform clothing, as specified by the Department Head. Upon approval of the board, the Department Head may authorize the provision or partial provision for such clothing, and/or the cleaning and maintenance of such clothing, or he/she may authorize the payment of a clothing allowance in place of such provisions.
