UNIFORMS & EQUIPMENT. 22.1 The Employer shall furnish uniform(s) to all sworn personnel who are required to wear such uniform(s) in the performance of their duties as set forth in the Rules and Regulations of the Pensacola Police Department. Uniforms shall include all necessary equipment for the officer’s performance of duty as a police officer including weapons, leather goods, foul weather gear, boots, cold weather gear and safety equipment, except socks and under garments. (a) The Employer will pay for the repair or replacement of property covered by this Agreement that is damaged while on duty, subject to the limitations provided in Sections 22.2 (b) through (e). (b) Any Employer-issued uniforms or equipment and any employee-owned personal property (as defined in Section 22.2 (c)), damaged, destroyed, lost, or stolen while an officer is acting in performance of his/her official duties shall be replaced or repaired (whichever costs less) by the Employer at no cost to the employee, provided that the damage, destruction or loss was not the result of the employee’s negligence, or carelessness. Claims must be supported by reasonable proof of loss and shall be subject to provisions pertaining to the processing of such claims as set forth by the Chief. (c) Employee-owned personal property is defined as that personal property necessary for the performance of official duties, prescription eye glasses, contact lenses, watches, false teeth, or partial plates. It shall not include telephones, pagers, or electronic devices of any kind. Jewelry is not considered related equipment. (d) If the loss is covered by any insurance policy owned by the victim employee, then the City will be reimbursed for any replaced items in the amount allowed and paid by the insurance company. (e) In no event will the Employer pay more than one hundred dollars ($100) for a watch or a cell phone, fifty ($50) for any pair of sunglasses, and three hundred dollars ($300) to repair or replace all other property listed in Section 22.2 (c). 22.3 Any non-uniform clothing damaged or destroyed while an employee is acting in the performance of their official duties shall be repaired or replaced (whichever is the lesser cost of the two) by the Employer. UNIFORMS & EQUIPMENT. The Department shall issue to each employee the following items: Name Tags Shirts Trousers Trousers Belt 2 3 long sleeve, 3 short sleeve 3 pair 1 Hat 1 Ties 2 Xxx Xxx 0 Xxxx Xxxxx with wallet 1 Shoulder Patches 7 pair Badges 3 (1 hat, 1 uniform, 1 wallet) Rain Coat 1 Jacket (with liner) 1 Gun Belt and Holster 1 Ammunition Holders 3 Handcuffs and holder 1 Handgun 1 Chemical Irritant 2 Body Armor 1 Defensive Baton 1 Taser (as available/if necessary) 1 Load Bearing Suspenders (based on Officer request) Jumpsuit (after completion of probationary period) Other equipment, including safety equipment, is provided in department vehicles in addition to the uniforms and personal equipment described in this article. In accordance with Department policy, the Employer agrees to replace items on the above list when they become damaged or worn. In addition, the Employer agrees to provide all equipment necessary for specialized assignments.

UNIFORMS & EQUIPMENT. During the term of this Memorandum of Understanding, the Parties agree to discuss and review Department policies for providing Unit Members’ uniforms, clothing and equipment allowances within the framework of the Labor-Management Committees established by this MOU. Public Works unit members eligible for a uniform credit as of the date of ratification of this MOU will receive an annual credit of $125.00 to be used in accordance with Department policy. Eligible unit members will receive a jacket every other year. The tool allowance shall be $500.00 per year for eligible unit members. Unit members eligible to receive safety boot and/or xxxx allowances or any other clothing, cleaning or equipment allowances as of the date of ratification of this MOU will continue to receive those allowances to be used in accordance with Department policy. The City will provide reasonable accommodations for special size orders. Replacement clothing due to work-related damage shall be paid upon approval of the supervisor. Any denial of replacement may be appealed by the employee to the department’s labor-management committee
UNIFORMS & EQUIPMENT. Section 16.1. The City shall provide a new Fire Department employee with uniforms and equipment which shall include or be comparable to the following: 1 Class "A" uniform, 1 white dress shirt, 1 necktie, 1 xxxxxxxx belt, 1 xxxxxxxx hat, 1 pair shoes, 1 squad cap, 1 pair fire gloves, 1 flashlight, 1 work jacket with liner, 3 work pants, 3 work shirts, 2 night shirts, 1 helmet with liner, 1 fire coat with liner, 1 pair fire boots, 1 coat badge, 1 shirt badge, 1 hat badge, 2 name tags and all necessary patches, 1 bunker pants, 1 approved fire hood, and approved gloves. The City shall continue to provide $650 effective 2018, $700 effective 2019, and $750 effective 2020, replacement for the foregoing, and for other equipment requested by the Fire Chief and approved by the Administration. Receipts shall be provided to verify all purchases. No carry overs or refunds are provided to those firefighters not using the uniform/equipment allowance indicated above. In addition, said allowance may be used for bedding and specialty items (such as corrective lenses for breathing apparatus, squad glasses xxxxxxx, training manuals and other fire and EMS related equipment) with the approval of the Fire Chief. The City will repair or replace turnout gear (fire coat with liner, bunker pants, bunker boots and fire helmet), like item for like item, that is damaged or when deemed necessary by state, federal or other mandate. These replacements or repairs will be on the approval of the Fire Chief. At 0800 the firefighters shall be dressed in either a Class "A" uniform or fatigues and ready to assume their duties. Firefighters shall be permitted to wear either civilian clothes, Class “A” uniform, or clean uncontaminated fatigues to and from work. The City agrees to reimburse the firefighters upon the City’s reimbursement for any payment received for the contamination or loss of items for which the employee must pay for from his or her clothing allowance. Employees shall not receive uniform allowance while on injury leave, extended sick leave, or extended leave (in excess of 30 calendar days); however, the allowance will be prorated for the length of time actually worked. The Chief, in his or her discretion, may waive this provision in the event that an employee’s protective clothing is damaged in the course of duty. UNIFORMS & EQUIPMENT. 297. Full and appropriate uniforms shall be supplied to all EMPLOYEE(S) who are required by MUNI to wear uniforms on duty. In addition to full uniforms, all EMPLOYEE(S) who are required by their duties to work outdoors shall not be required to perform their normal work duties in the rain, wind or cold without being provided adequate foul-weather gear. The City agrees to provide all required safety equipment (i.e., protective eyeware, protective footware) in compliance with Cal-OSHA regulations.

Specific uniform items provided by the Employer will be listed in Department or Division policy. Uniform items will be replaced pursuant to the Employer’s replacement schedule. Uniform items that are damaged during the course and scope of duty will be replaced by the Employer. Equipment‌ The Employer will determine and provide personal protective equipment (PPE) items that employees covered under this Agreement may be required to use while on duty. Specific PPE items provided by the Employer will be listed in Department or Division policy. State-issued PPE items will be replaced pursuant to the Employer’s replacement schedule. State-issued PPE items that are damaged during the course and scope of duty will be replaced by the Employer.

Individuals who leave after less than one year will be required to reimburse the district for the cost of the uniforms.
