UNION BUSINESS/UNION LEAVE. The IAFF, Local 1906 may furnish a bulletin board at each station for the conduct of IAFF, Local 1906 matters, notices of IAFF, Local 1906 meetings, elections, or other matters pertaining to normal, regular, and lawful IAFF, Local 1906 business. The size and location of the bulletin board shall be determined by the Fire Chief. All materials to be posted on such bulletin boards shall be non-defamatory, must be approved by the Fire Chief, and shall be used only related to the following subjects: union recreational, social, and related news bulletins, scheduled IAFF, Local 1906 meetings, information concerning union elections, or reports of official business of the IAFF, Local 1906. Use of department facilities for union meetings is subject to authorization of the Fire Chief and shall be requested at least 48 hours in advance or 24 hours under special circumstances. IAFF, Local 1906 members will be allowed to contribute accumulated compensatory time off (“ATO”) to a special account for use of IAFF, Local 1906 officers or their designee. Contribution to or the withdrawal of time from the special ATO account will require written authorization by the IAFF’s President. An individual IAFF, Local 1906 officer or designee may, subject to all normal approvals and restrictions for leave time, use up to fifty-four (54) hours per fiscal year from the pool for attendance at meetings, seminars, etc., on behalf of the IAFF, Local 1906. The special account will be allowed to accumulate no more than ninety-six (96) hours at any time during this MOU. The utilization of this will not result in the need for expected (known) overtime hours.

UNION BUSINESS/UNION LEAVE. 16.7.1.1 Members of the union attending union business shall be granted a leave of absence (subject to reimbursement in accordance with article 16.7.1.2) provided: the employee is authorized by the union, in writing, to request such leave; the employee requests, in writing, leave for union business as authorized by the union; the request for union leave is made on such form or forms as agreed by the parties from time to time; such leave shall not unreasonably interfere with the operations of the employer.
UNION BUSINESS/UNION LEAVE. ‌ Two (2) union delegates may be granted unpaid leave from duty to attend the convention of the United Steel Workers for seven (7) days. Such leaves will require a minimum of fourteen (14) days advance written notice to the Employee’s supervisor. These employees have the option to utilize their benefit time during said leave. At no time should this leave exceed seven (7) days.

  • Union Business Leave 1. The five members of the Union Negotiating Committee shall be granted leave from duty with full pay for all meetings between the Board, or its representatives, and the Union for the purpose of negotiating the terms of a contract, when such meetings take place at a time when such members are scheduled to be at work.

  • Union Business (a) The Hospital shall grant leave of absence without pay to employees to attend Union conventions, seminars, education classes and other Union business in connection with the administration of the collective agreement provided that such leave will not interfere with the efficient operation of the Hospital. Such leave will not be unreasonably denied. In requesting such leave of absence for an employee or employees, the Union must give at least fourteen (14) days clear notice in writing to the Hospital, unless not reasonably possible to give such notice. The cumulative total leave of absence, the number of employees that may be absent at any one time from any one area, and the number of days of absence shall be negotiated locally and are set out in the Local Provisions Appendix. During such leave of absence, the employee's salary and applicable benefits shall be maintained by the Hospital on the basis of what his normal regular hours of work would have been, provided that the Union reimburses the Hospital in the amount of such salary and applicable benefits within thirty (30) days of billing. Notwithstanding the above, time spent by the eight (8) Executive Board members and seven (7) Alternate Executive Board members of the Ontario Council of Hospital Unions to fulfill the duties of the position shall be in addition to leave for Union Business under this clause. Part-time and casual employees will be given full credit for seniority purposes for regularly scheduled hours missed in accordance with this provision.

  • Unpaid Leave - Union Business (a) Short-term leave of absence without pay to a maximum of fourteen (14) days at one time shall be granted to employees designated by the Union to transact Union business including conventions and conferences unless this would unduly interrupt the operation of the department provided, however, that these designated employees shall be paid by the Employer for time lost in attending meetings during working hours whenever their attendance is requested by the Employer. The Union shall give reasonable notice to minimize disruption of the department and the Union shall make every effort to give a minimum of seven (7) days' notice.

  • Union Leave (a) Upon receiving a written request at least one (1) week in advance from the Union, the Company will grant leave of absence for not more than two (2) employees at any one time to attend Union conferences, conventions, or workshops, providing that the combined leaves of absence will not exceed forty (40) working days in any one (1) calendar year. Such leaves of absence will be without pay but with maintenance and accumulation of benefits (normal payroll deductions to apply).

  • For Union Business Representatives of the Union shall not suffer any loss of pay when required to leave their employment temporarily in order to carry on negotiations with the Employer, or with respect to a grievance.
