Unused Sick Leave Upon Retirement. Fire and Police Disability and Retirement Fund & Oregon Public Services Retirement Plan Members. An officer who is FPD&R Tier 1 or 2 or FPD&R Tier 3/PERS OPSRP who has accumulated sick leave at the time of retirement shall receive credit in an amount equal to thirty percent (30%) of the first four hundred and eighty (480) hours of such accumulated sick leave, fifty percent (50%) of the second four hundred and eighty (480) hours, and seventy percent (70%) of all accumulated sick leave in excess of nine hundred and sixty (960) hours up to a maximum of 2,064 hours. The cash value of such credit will be calculated on the basis of the officer’s pay rate at the time of retirement.

Unused Sick Leave Upon Retirement. Upon retirement, educators with unused days of sick leave and 10 years of credited full-time service shall be paid one day for each three unused sick days, up to a maximum of 45 days. Payment to teaching educators for unused days of sick leave shall be 1/180 of their final salary per day. Such calculations shall have no bearing on the number of required work days per year.

Unused Sick Leave Upon Retirement. For the school years 2012-2013, 2013-2014, 2014-2015, and 2015-2016, the Board shall pay $65.00 for each day of accumulated and unused sick leave which a teacher has in excess of the total number of such sick leave days that can be used for additional service credit under TRS. The maximum number of days which will be paid is limited to eighty (80). Said payment shall be made as a post-retirement severance benefit and is not intended to be added to compensation in the teacher’s final year of service. The payment shall be made after the retired teacher provides evidence from TRS of any accumulated and unused sick days that have not been used for service credit under the Teachers’ Retirement System.

Unused Sick Leave Upon Retirement. Each Motor Coach Operator with ten or more years of service with the City who has at least 50 days of unused accrued sick leave when he/she retires from the City, may convert all unused accrued sick leave to dollars, which can be used to purchase medical insurance coverage for the employee and his/her spouse. The employee will be given the actual dollar value of the sick leave, which is converted based on the employee’s base rate of pay on the date that he/she retires from the City. Those funds shall be set aside and shall be used to reimburse the employee for the cost of medical insurance coverage. This will include payments that the employee makes into the Medical Trust, described in the umbrella agreement referenced in Subsection A. of Section 3.01 of this Agreement, after his/her separation from the City. Reimbursement for medical insurance coverage will be made when the retiree submits proof of payment for medical insurance coverage.
Unused Sick Leave Upon Retirement. An employee who is retiring is entitled to receive pay for unused sick leave up to one-half of 90 days as provided by law. The local supplement will be added to the State salary when determining the pay for unused sick leave. The daily rate for sick leave payout will be calculated as follows: Employee's total annual salary / 222 = daily rate.

To be eligible for payment, an employee must have been an employee of the District for a minimum of ten (10) years and must receive retirement benefits from PERS within six (6) months after leaving District employment.
