Vocational Assessment a. Vocational Assessment Services provides information for a participants’ application and to the referring Department of Rehabilitation (DOR) Senior Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor (SVRC), to assist in eligibility determination, ability to participate in rehabilitation planning, and/or to determine the nature and scope of DOR services to be provided.
b. This service as authorized by a DOR SVRC and provided to a participant’s by a Program staff person, are limited in scope and short in duration. Services assess basic information about a participant’s current educational and vocational levels, abilities, and interests. Assessment materials or questionnaires are not reflective of standardized test, and are developed by the Program staff person. The Program staff person will seek information through a questionnaire, an interview, and review of collateral information. Extensive occupational option or labor market analyses are not included in this service.
c. Upon completion of an intake, the Program staff person will meet with the participant to develop an Individual Service Plan (ISP) which will include: • Areas to be addressed • Proposed assessment activities • Proposed outcomes (measurable) • Schedule/timeline for completion • Staff responsible
d. This service will be provided by Cooperative Mental Health Clinician, Cooperative Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor, Cooperative Mental Health Worker, & the Cooperative Peer Support Specialist.
e. Service Goals/Number Served • For fiscal year 2023-2024, a total of 30 unduplicated participants will receive this service • For fiscal year 2024-2025, a total of 30 unduplicated participants will receive this service • For fiscal year 2025-2026, a total of 30 unduplicated participants will receive this service Employment Services (ES) as referred by a DOR SVRC and provided to a participant by a Program staff person, assists a participant prepare for, obtain, and retain employment. A continuum of services provides guidance and direction to a participant in the development of job search techniques and appropriate work-related behaviors that will enhance the participant employability. Employment Services components provide assistance in the development of job search skills, coordination of job search activities, and identification of appropriate job openings. Vocational Assessment. Utilizing the monthly activities, assessments and guidance, a Vocational Assessment shall be conducted by the ES with the purpose of determining an eligible student’s unique strengths, resources, priorities, concerns, abilities, capabilities, and interests as they relate to post school activities and employment in order to determine an appropriate vocational goal and future training needs. Most students will require a full year of monthly assessment activities but the exact number should be tailored to the individual needs of the student. This Assessment should be completed within 30 days of the student’s successful completion of vocational evaluation and exploration services and must be submitted prior to the student beginning training services. OVR will pre-authorize and pay the LEA $900 for the Vocational Assessment report.
