Returning from Leave. Employees returning early from leave of absence must submit a request to return to work in writing. Employees returning from a medical leave of absence may be required to certify their ability to return to work at least five (5) working days prior to the requested date of the return. Employees returning early from leave must wait for the next available job opening. Employees returning on the planned date will be placed in the position they left, or an equivalent position.

Employees returning at the approved date will be placed in the position they left or an equivalent position if the leave of absence is 183 contract days or less. If the leave of absence is 184 contract days or more, the person will be assigned to a position for which they are certified and qualified. If the position no longer exists at the end of any leave of absence, the person will be assigned to another position where they are certified and qualified. Whenever a leave of absence is extended, the person shall be assigned to a position in which they are qualified and certified when they return.
Returning from Leave. Members returning from leaves-of-absence will be assigned to their previous position, or a substantially similar position. Should neither of the above conditions be met, the member may accept any other position offered by the Board or resign from the faculty without prejudice.
Returning from Leave. An employee who is returning from a leave of absence consisting of one (1) year or less or returning from Family Medical or sick leave (paid or unpaid) will be returned to his/her same or equivalent position. In the event no such position is available, the employee returning from leave will be assigned to a position held by an employee with less seniority, per reduction Article VII. Such position must have a wage rate equal to or greater than the position she/he held immediately prior to her/his leave of absence. If there is no position that has the requirements stated above, the employee will be assigned to any position for which she/he is qualified and is vacant or held by an employee with less seniority. An employee returning from a leave of absence other than Family Medical leave or sick leave or more than one (I) year shall be returned to the first vacancy for which she/he is qualified.
Returning from Leave. Employees returning to duty status after leave of 30 days or longer may be required to pass a physical examination and drug test at Company expense.
Returning from Leave. Upon return from a leave of absence the employee, excluding teachers, will be placed in a position based on educational considerations, and the qualifications and seniority of the employee.
Returning from Leave. 121 An employee who returns to work within the leave of absence shall be reinstated according to their position on the seniority list at their former rate of pay plus increases or minus decreases that may have become effective during their absence, provided they give at least three (3) days notice of their intention to return.
Returning from Leave. An employee returning after leave of absence shall return to his former position provided it has not been abolished or a senior employee has not exercised displacement rights thereon. Upon return or within seven (7) days thereafter such employee may exercise seniority rights on any position bulletined during such absence. In the event the employee's former position has been abolished or a senior employee has exercised displacement rights thereon, the returning employee will be governed by the provision of Rule 20 and may displace a junior employee if such rights are asserted within ten (10) days after his return. Employees displaced by his return shall have the privilege of exercising seniority rights over junior employees in the same manner.
Returning from Leave. 11.3.1 An employee granted a leave under the provisions of this article shall return to his/her same position worked at the time the leave was granted, unless the position no longer exists, in which case the employee shall return to an equivalent position.
