Accrual of Paid Leave. (1) Less than one (1) year of employment. All eligible employees who have completed less than one (1) year of employment shall accrue paid leave at a rate of .6 days earned each pay period. (2) One (1) through five (5) years of employment. All eligible employees who have completed from one (1) through five (5) years of employment shall accrue paid leave at the rate of .8 days per pay period. (3) Six (6) through ten (10) years of employment. All eligible employees who have completed from six (6) through ten (10) years of employment shall accrue paid leave at a rate of .9 days per pay period. (4) Eleven (11) or more years of employment. All eligible employees who have completed from eleven (11) or more years of employment shall accrue paid leave at the rate of 1.0 days per pay period. (5) Any paid leave over the maximum accrual rate shall be forfeited to the Employer as of March 1st of any given year. Only the maximum will be carried over according to the following maximums permitted: a. Less than one (1) year – 16 working days. b. One (1) through five (5) years – 21 working days. c. Six (6) through ten (10) years – 24 working days. d. Eleven (11) or more years – 26 working days.

Requests should be made thirty (30) days in advance, whenever possible, and the department head should consider the needs of County service and the seniority and wishes of the employee in granting paid leave for vacation; b) If paid leave is to be used for medical, optical or dental appointments, the employee shall, whenever possible, give the department head twenty-four (24) hours' advance notice and receive prior approval of the department head.

  • Accrual of Leave (a) An employee’s entitlement to paid recreation leave accrues progressively during a year of service according to the employee’s ordinary hours of work. (b) If an employee takes unpaid leave that does not count as service, leave will not accrue for that period.

  • Accrual of Sick Leave a. A full-time employee shall accrue four (4) hours of sick leave for each biweekly pay period, or the number of hours that are directly proportionate to the number of days worked during less than a full-pay period, without limitation as to the total number of hours that may be accrued. b. A part-time employee shall accrue sick leave at a rate directly proportionate to the percent of time employed. c. An employee appointed under Other Personal Services (OPS) shall not accrue sick leave.

  • Accrual of Seniority Seniority shall accrue during: (a) the first one hundred and nineteen (119) calendar days of sick leave including time on E.I. sick benefit or Income Replacement Benefits under the Automobile Insurance Act; (b) unpaid leaves of absence up to and including one hundred and sixty-eight (168) work hours in a calendar year; (c) hours absent while receiving benefits from the Worker’s Compensation Board; (d) temporary positions, out-of-scope of any union, with the Employer not to exceed twelve (12) months unless extended by mutual agreement with the union; (e) bereavement leave, pressing necessity leave, family responsibility leave, medical care leave; (f) jury duty and court service; (g) vacation leave; (h) leave for elected Public Office; (i) union leave; (j) all maternity/paternity/adoption/parental leave; (k) education leave up to twenty-four (24) months. (l) Long-term disability or Income Replacement Benefits under the Automobile Insurance Act. (m) If an Employee’s hours of work are reduced due to a disability, full-time Employees shall maintain their pre- disability accrual rate. Other than full-time Employees shall accrue seniority as follows: (i) For those who have worked one (1) year or more: Paid Hours in Previous 52 Weeks = Seniority Hours Per 52 Week of Leave (ii) For other than full-time Employees who have worked for less than one (1) year:

  • Accrual of Annual Leave (a) An employee shall accrue an amount of paid annual leave, for each completed 4 week period of continuous service with the employer, of 1/13 of the number of ordinary hours worked by the employee for the employer during that 4 week period. (b) Annual leave shall accrue on a pro-rata basis and be credited to the employee monthly.

  • Accrual of Interest Each Note will accrue interest at a rate per annum equal to 3.50% (the “Stated Interest”), plus any Additional Interest and Special Interest that may accrue pursuant to Sections 3.04 and 7.03, respectively.   • Cessation of Accrual of Interest Except as provided in Sections 4.02(D), 4.03(E) or 5.02(D), interest will cease to accrue on each Note from, and including, the date that such Note is deemed, pursuant to this Section 2.18, to cease to be outstanding, unless there occurs a default in the payment or delivery of any cash or other property due on such Note.

  • Special Leave Without Pay Section 1. Employees may participate in a Special Leave Without Pay Program as established by the Hennepin County Board of Commissioners. The Special Leave Without Pay Program period is from date of County Board Approval through December 31, 2021. Section 2. Upon the request of either party, the EMPLOYER and the UNION shall meet and confer on the extension of this Special Leave Without Pay Program each year through 2021. Section 3. The EMPLOYER's policy on use of Special Leave Without Pay (SLWOP) provides that employees may use SLWOP in cases where they would otherwise not take the leave. The EMPLOYER will therefore interpret its policy on SLWOP to allow SLWOP for Union Leave and Parenting Leave in cases where the employee would not otherwise take the leave.

  • Distributions Upon Income Inclusion Under Section 409A of the Code Upon the inclusion of any portion of the benefits payable pursuant to this Agreement into the Executive’s income as a result of the failure of this non-qualified deferred compensation plan to comply with the requirements of Section 409A of the Code, to the extent such tax liability can be covered by the Executive’s vested accrued liability, a distribution shall be made as soon as is administratively practicable following the discovery of the plan failure.

  • Maternity Leave Without Pay (1) An employee who becomes pregnant shall, upon request, be granted maternity leave without pay for a period beginning before, on or after the termination date of pregnancy and ending not later than eighteen (18) weeks after the termination date of pregnancy. (a) Notwithstanding 35.7(A)(1): (i) where the employee’s new-born child is hospitalized within the period defined in 35.7(A)(1); and (ii) where the employee has proceeded on maternity leave without pay and then, upon request and with the concurrence of the Council, returns to work for all or part of the period during which her new- born child is hospitalized; the period of maternity leave without pay defined in 35.7(A)(1) may be extended beyond the date falling eighteen (18) weeks after the date of termination of pregnancy by a period equal to that portion of the period of the child’s hospitalization during which the employee returned to work, to a maximum of eighteen (18) weeks. (b) The extension described in 35.7(A)(1)(a) shall end not later than fifty-two (52) weeks after the termination date of pregnancy. (2) At its discretion, the Council may require an employee to submit a medical certificate certifying pregnancy. (3) An employee who has not commenced maternity leave without pay may elect to: (a) use earned vacation and compensatory leave credits up to and beyond the date that her pregnancy terminates; (b) use her sick leave credits up to and beyond the date that her pregnancy terminates, subject to the provisions set out in the Sick Leave Article. For purposes of this clause, illness or injury as defined in the Sick Leave Article shall include medical disability related to pregnancy. (B) An employee shall inform the Council in writing of her plans for taking leave with and without pay to cover her absence from work due to the pregnancy at least four (4) weeks in advance of the initial date of continuous leave of absence during which termination of pregnancy is expected to occur. (C) Leave granted under this clause shall be counted for the calculation of “continuous employment” or “service” as applicable for the purpose of calculating severance pay and vacation leave. Time spent on such leave shall be counted for pay increment purposes.
