DAYS OFF WITH PAY. 27.01 In addition to the holidays provided in Section 26.01, each employee in the employ of the Company on December 1st shall be granted two (2) days off with pay, on days determined by the Company, at her basic rate of pay for the day, or if a Part-time employee, the greater of, not to exceed one-fifth of the basic weekly rate of pay: (a) 10% of her earnings, excluding overtime and differential payments, for the pay period immediately preceding the day off with pay; (b) 5% of her earnings, excluding overtime and differential payments, for the two (2) pay periods immediately preceding the day off with pay. (a) One (1) of these days off with pay will be scheduled during the period from December 1st to the 15th of January of the following year. (b) (i) One (1) of these days off with pay shall be granted, subject to service requirements, on the first or last day of one (1) of the employee’s scheduled work weeks, during the period from December 1st of the current year to November 30th of the following year;

DAYS OFF WITH PAY. 30:01 Days off with pay other than those specified in Article 29:01, which are declared by the President of the University of Toronto, shall be extended to all Bargaining Unit employees and will be paid by the Employer at regular straight time pay. Employees required to work by the University on one or more of these days will be paid at straight time for the day, and will be given another day off with no loss of regular straight-time pay at a time mutually agreed by the employee and his/her Supervisor. The days referenced in this article will be granted solely at the discretion of the University. Notice will be sent to the Union by the University within a reasonable time period prior to the designated dates of these days. In the event of a dispute, the Grievance Procedure may be invoked. These days are not “holidays” for any purpose under the Collective Agreement, including Article 29: Holidays.
DAYS OFF WITH PAY. Employees may utilize up to a total of eighty (80) hours of paid work time off for any combination reasons: • Locating a new principal residence. • Closing on the sale or lease of the former principal residence. • Closing on the purchase or lease of the new principal residence. • Moving household goods from the former to the new principal residence. • Related incidental activities.

Personal Days Off With Pay  27.04 - 27.06 In addition to the holidays provided in Section 26.01, each employee in the employ of the Company on December 1st shall be granted two (2) days off with pay at 7.5 hours each, on days determined by the Company, at her basic rate of pay for the day. Under these Sections employees will be granted 30 hours of personal time off with pay for personal needs, half of which can be used for emergencies during the applicable prescribed period. It is understood that should there no longer be a maximum value of 7.5 hours for holidays and days off with pay due to labour legislation, the number of personal days off with pay will be adjusted to ensure that employees on a compressed work week are not granted more hours off than employees on a regular work week. VACATIONS - ARTICLE 28  28.03 Vacation entitlement will be converted to hours. Hours of vacation are deducted depending on the hours of the chosen option for each day of vacation taken during the period where the employee is on a compressed work week schedule. VACATIONS - ARTICLE 28 (cont’d)  28.07 Where a Company holiday falls on a day of the annual vacation, an employee shall be entitled to an additional day off with pay at a time convenient to the employee and the Company. Where a Company holiday falls on a day of the annual vacation, an employee shall be entitled to an additional day off with pay at 7.5 hours, at a time convenient to the employee and the Company.
DAYS OFF WITH PAY. An employee in the employ of the Company on the 20th of December, with the exception of an employee who is on an unpaid leave of absence in excess of two weeks and not covered under Article 32 of this Agreement, shall be granted one day off with pay in the period from the 20th of December of the current year to the last day of April of the following year. Once scheduled, the day off shall not be rescheduled unless the employee so agrees.
DAYS OFF WITH PAY. 18.01 An employee may be absent from work for two (2) days at the birth of his child or adoption of a child. The two (2) days of absence shall be paid if the employee has finished his probation period. 18.02 During a calendar year, an employee may be absent from work for four (4) days for sickness without loss of pay. Only employees with six (6) months seniority before January 1st of each year are entitled to sickness days. The unused portion of an employee’s sickness days shall be paid out at the end of each calendar year or upon severance or retirement during the year, at the employee’s rate of pay then in effect. If an employee leaves employment or is severed before the end of the year, sickness days will be considered as being accumulated on the basis of a third (1/3) of a day for each calendar month worked by the employee. Such sickness days can only be taken in increments of a full day.

Personal Days Off With Pay (a) In addition to the days off with pay provided in Section 27.01, each full-time employee with five (5) years or more of net credited service, will be granted days off with pay for personal needs, at her basic rate of pay for the day.
