ALTERNATE WORKWEEK SCHEDULES a. The County may operate, at its option, alternate work schedules which include, but are not limited to, variable daily work hours, flex-time, adjusted weekly work schedules, 9-80, 7/12, and/or four-day workweek schedules in all departments covered by this Agreement. Such work schedules are subject to the provisions of the applicable County ordinance.

ALTERNATE WORKWEEK SCHEDULES. ‌ The definition of the workweek addressed in Section 1 of this Article will not apply to employees who work alternate schedules (examples F and M as set forth below). Employee requests for alternate work schedules shall be governed by Section 3 of this article. Nothing in this section changes the authority or ability of the City to change or rescind an employee’s work schedule to meet City operating needs in accordance with applicable provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement. An alternative work schedule must be mutually agreed to by the employee and the City and must be structured so that any given week or day does not result in overtime. The following alternate workweek examples are not inclusive. Alternative schedules must equal eighty (80) hours over a two week period for full-time employees but may be split however works for an employee and the City so long as each workweek equals forty (40) hours.

  • Alternate Work Schedules Workweeks and work shifts of different numbers of hours may be established for overtime-eligible employees by the Employer in order to meet business and customer service needs, as long as the alternate work schedules meet federal and state law. When there is a holiday, employees may be required to switch from their alternate work schedules to regular work schedules.

  • Alternate Work Schedule An alternate work schedule is any work schedule where an employee is regularly scheduled to work five (5) days per week, but the employee’s regularly scheduled two (2) days off are NOT Saturday and Sunday.

  • Alternate Work Sites Employees may be assigned or authorized to report to work at an alternative work site(s) and be paid for the time worked.

  • Alternative Work Schedules Alternative work schedule means an approved schedule for an Employee that deviates from the work week described in Section 1, Section 2, or a schedule that deviates from a worksite’s normal schedule. Employees who work a “shift work schedule” as part of a rotating group of individuals who must continuously maintain a 24-hour operation or facility are not eligible for an alternative work schedule.

  • Regular Work Schedules The regular work schedule for overtime-eligible employees will not be more than forty (40) hours in a workweek, with two (2) consecutive calendar days off and starting and ending times as determined by the requirements of the position and the Employer. The Employer may adjust the regular work schedule with prior notice to the employee.

  • Flexible Work Schedules (a) Academic Professional staff members throughout the University may have, as indicated below, flexible work schedules. For example, Academic Professionals often travel on University business and/or work evenings and weekends. A flexible work schedule is defined as having established working hours different from the standard 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday schedule, to be followed by an employee for an agreed upon period of time.

  • NORMAL WORK SCHEDULES 112. Unless otherwise provided in this Agreement, a “normal work day” is a tour of duty of eight (8) hours completed within not more than nine (9) hours. The normal work week for employees covered by this agreement is 40 hours.

  • Alternative Work Schedule An alternate forty (40) hour work schedule (other than five (5) uniform and consecutive eight (8) hour days in a seven (7) day period), or for hospital personnel an eighty (80) hour workweek in a fourteen (14) day period and other mutually agreed upon schedules that comply with applicable federal and state law. Employee work schedules normally include two (2) consecutive days off.

  • Alternate Schedules Employees working alternate schedules who are normally scheduled to work more than eight (8) hours on a day observed as a holiday may use vacation leave, compensatory time or leave without pay to make up the difference between the employee’s normally scheduled shift and the eight (8) hours of holiday pay.

  • Flexible Work Schedule A flexible work schedule is any schedule that is not a regular, alternate, 9/80, or 4/10 work schedule and where the employee is not scheduled to work more than 40 hours in the "workweek" as defined in Subsections F. and H., below.
