Alternative Education Program. An alternative education program will be provided within the district for students in grades 6-12.
Alternative Education Program. 1. By January 31, 2018, the District, after consultation with at least the expert and the Discipline supervisor, will develop a detailed policy for the placement of a student in the District’s Alternative Education Program. The policy will, at a minimum, include the following: a. The specific non-discriminatory criteria upon which the District will rely (e.g., grades, discipline, parent contacts, student contacts, other life circumstances) when evaluating whether a student is placed, or continues to be placed, in the alternative education program. b. The documentation the District will maintain to support each decision made to place a student in the alternative education program. c. The specific educational and/or disciplinary criteria used by the District to determine whether a student’s exit from the alternative education program and return to the general education program is appropriate and an explanation of the process by which a student can request to exit the alternative education program and return to the general education program.
Alternative Education Program. CONTRACTOR shall provide all services, personnel, supplies and equipment at its sole cost and expense as is necessary to provide the ALTERNATIVE EDUCATION PROGRAM to the DISRUPTIVE STUDENTS assigned by the SCHOOL DISTRICT in accordance with the terms and conditions of this AGREEMENT and in accordance with SCHOOL DISTRICT Policy No. 132 “Alternative Education,” which is attached hereto as Appendix A and incorporated herein. CONTRACTOR specifically agrees to: 2.1 Provide at least 20 hours per week of academic instruction for each student according to his or her grade level that: 2.1.1 Is a course of instruction sufficient to make normal academic progress and enables each student to work towards the requirements for graduation established by the SCHOOL DISTRICT; 2.1.2 Has clear and measurable academic performance goals that are established after appropriately assessing the student; 2.1.3 Includes a course of instruction that recognizes the special needs of the students attending the program and prepares them for a successful return to a regular school curriculum and/or the completion of graduation requirements as established by the SCHOOL DISTRICT; 2.1.4 Provides individual evaluation for each student in order to measure progress towards the standards in the core academic subjects as defined by the Pennsylvania State Board of Education. 2.2 Provide a course of study for each student that meets or exceeds the requirements of the Pennsylvania State Board of Education Academic Standards; 2.3 Provide an ALTERNATIVE EDUCATION PROGRAM that operates at least five days per week (excluding holidays) and at least 180 days per year for a total of no less than 810 hours per school year; 2.4 Provides each student with at least 2.5 hours of individual or group counseling for the purpose of remediating disruptive behavior, provided by counselors who have experienced with the individual student’s age range and who have one of the following credentials: certified school counselor; licensed social worker; school social worker; certified/licensed therapist; certified addictions counselor; school psychologist; psychologist; or any appropriate credential in a behavioral health discipline. 2.5 Develop an individualized behavior plan for each student and provide him/her with clear and measurable goals related to remediating the disruptive behavior that prompted his/her placement in the ALTERNATIVE EDUCATION PROGRAM and preparing the student to return to their regular classroom; and...
Alternative Education Program. The Normal Work Year for each employee assigned to the Alternative Education Program is equal to the number of school days in the community school instructional calendar, plus one day, which will be scheduled over a ten month period. Each employee will be paid in ten equal installments for days in pay status, including vacation and holidays, for the months of August through May of each school year. Each employee will be paid on the last day of the month for hours in pay status during the months of August through May of each school year. Employees shall be paid no later than September 10th supplemental for all hours in pay status during the month of August. Any time worked in addition to the number of days defined above will be paid on the supplemental payroll. Each employee assigned to the Alternative Education Program may be offered an opportunity to work the extended program during the summer months. Each employee shall be offered an opportunity to work the extended program during the summer months, prior to a position being offered to a person not already employed by the County Office. Each employee assigned to work the extended program will be paid through the supplemental payroll which falls on the tenth of the following month for all work performed during the extended program.

  • Leave Donation Program Employees may donate paid leave to a fellow employee who is otherwise eligible to accrue and use sick leave and is employed by the same Agency. The intent of the leave donation program is to allow employees to voluntarily provide assistance to their co-workers who are in critical need of leave due to the serious illness or injury of the employee or a member of the employee's immediate family. The definition of immediate family as provided in rule 123:1-47-01 of the Administrative Code shall apply for the leave donation program. A. An employee may receive donated leave, up to the number of hours the employee is scheduled to work each pay period, if the employee who is to receive donated leave: 1. Or a member of the employee's immediate family has a serious illness or injury; 2. Has no accrued leave or has not been approved to receive other state-paid benefits; and 3. Has applied for any paid leave, workers' compensation, or benefits program for which the employee is eligible. Employees who have applied for these programs may use donated leave to satisfy the waiting period for such benefits where applicable, and donated leave may be used following a waiting period, if one exists, in an amount equal to the benefit provided by the program, i.e. fifty six hours (56) pay period may be utilized by an employee who has satisfied the disability waiting period and is pending approval, this is equal to the seventy percent (70%) benefit provided by disability. B. Employees may donate leave if the donating employee: 1. Voluntarily elects to donate leave and does so with the understanding that donated leave will not be returned; 2. Donates a minimum of eight hours; and 3. Retains a combined leave balance of at least eighty hours. Leave shall be donated in the same manner in which it would otherwise be used except that compensatory time is not eligible for donation. C. The leave donation program shall be administered on a pay period by pay period basis. Employees using donated leave shall be considered in active pay status and shall accrue leave and be entitled to any benefits to which they would otherwise be entitled. Leave accrued by an employee while using donated leave shall be used, if necessary, in the following pay period before additional donated leave may be received. Donated leave shall not count toward the probationary period of an employee who receives donated leave during his or her probationary period. Donated leave shall be considered sick leave, but shall never be converted into a cash benefit. D. Employees who wish to donate leave shall certify: 1. The name of the employee for whom the donated leave is intended; 2. The type of leave and number of hours to be donated; 3. That the employee will have a minimum combined leave balance of at least eighty hours; and 4. That the leave is donated voluntarily and the employee understands that the donated leave will not be returned. E. Appointing authorities shall ensure that no employees are forced to donate leave. Appointing authorities shall respect an employee's right to privacy, however appointing authorities may, with the permission of the employee who is in need of leave or a member of the employee's immediate family, inform employees of their co-worker's critical need for leave. Appointing authorities shall not directly solicit leave donations from employees. The donation of leave shall occur on a strictly voluntary basis.

  • In-Service Education The parties recognize the value of in-service both to the employee and the Employer and shall encourage employees to participate in in-service. All employees scheduled by the Employer to attend in-service seminars shall receive regular wages.

  • Educational Program A. DSST PUBLIC SCHOOLS shall implement and maintain the following characteristics of its educational program in addition to those identified in the Network Contract at DSST XXXX MIDDLE SCHOOL (“the School” within Exhibit A-3). These characteristics are subject to modification with the District’s written approval:

  • Orientation Program The Company will allow a designated representative of the Local or Bargaining Unit up to one (1) hour per calendar month for the purpose of conducting the Communications, Energy and Paperworkers Union New Members’ Orientation Program. Such meetings will be conducted during the probationary period of employees, and will be held on Company premises. Employees participating in Orientation Program meetings during their normally scheduled working hours will not suffer loss of pay at their regular rate. Orientation Program meetings will be scheduled by Management and a Management representative may attend as an observer.

  • Paid Education Leave The Company agrees to pay into a special fund, one (1¢) cent per hour per employee for all compensated hours for the purpose of providing paid education leave. Such leave will be for upgrading the employee skills in all aspects of trade union functions. Such monies to be paid on a quarterly basis into a trust fund established by the National Union, CAW, effective from date of ratification and sent by the Company to the following address: CAW Paid Education Leave Program, 000 Xxxxxx Xxxxx, Xxxxx Xxxx, Xxxxxxx X0X 0X0.

  • Continuing Education The Hospital and the Union recognize that continuing education is important for all employees and that they have shared interests and responsibilities in ensuring equitable access to it.

  • Sick Leave Donation Program A Labor Management Committee will be established for the purpose of proposing rules and procedures for a new, program. The LMC will be to develop consistent, transparent and equitable proposals for processes across all departments within the City. The LMC shall also explore proposals to lower the minimum leave bank required to donate sick leave and permit donation of sick leave upon separation from the City. The LMC must consult with the Office of Civil Rights to ensure compliance with the City’s Race and Social Justice Initiative. Once the LMC has developed its list of proposals, the City and Coalition of City Unions agrees to reopen each contract on this subject.

  • Special Education Teachers Elementary/Secondary Special Education Coordinators shall be compensated for an extended work day in the amount of four thousand dollars ($4,000).
