ASSOCIATION PROFESSIONAL LEAVE. ‌ 1. The Board, upon request from the Association, shall grant the President of the Association temporary duty for the duration of the President’s term of office. All benefits enjoyed by employees shall be continued and accrued to the President of the Association. 2. The Association shall provide the Board with revenue to pay for the President’s salary, taxes, retirement, and fringe benefits, and in return the Board shall issue a monthly check warrant to the President during his/her term of office. The Association shall inform the Board of the date of the President’s term of office so as to establish a monthly payday. Where possible, the President shall be assigned to his/her previous school or department.

ASSOCIATION PROFESSIONAL LEAVE. The Association President or his/her designee shall be granted sixteen (16) days leave to attend and participate in professional meetings as indicated by Section 3313.20 of the Ohio Revised Code. The Association President or his/her designee may use such leave for conducting Association business as deemed necessary by the Association President. Such leave will be granted if submitted in writing to the Association President’s or his/her designee’s immediate supervisor two (2) working days prior to the date of the leave. The Superintendent or his/her designee may agree to less notice in the case of an emergency. The sixteen (16) days of leave granted herein shall be with pay, and the District will assume the cost for the substitute teacher(s) but will not be obligated to pay any expenses incurred in attending the meeting(s). Additional Association Professional Leave as above may be granted to the Association President or his/her designee at the discretion of the Superintendent, provided a timely written request is submitted by the President with full description of the place, function, and purpose of such leave and the assumption by the Association of the costs for necessary substitutes. Any additional days granted under this paragraph shall be with pay, but the District shall not be obligated for the cost of substitute teacher(s) or any other expenses.

The provisions above shall also apply to any member of the Association elected to an office in a State or National affiliate of the Association so long as said affiliate or the Association provide the Board the revenue to pay for the same benefits as in Paragraph 2, above. 4. The Board shall authorize the Superintendent to grant reasonable use of Temporary Duty Elsewhere (TDE) to be used at the discretion of the Association President for the conduct of Association business. If a substitute is required, the Association shall reimburse the District for the cost of the substitute; if no substitute is required, the employee shall be required to make up time lost as a result of participation in Association activities. 5. The Association President shall correspond with the Department of Labor Relations regarding the purpose, the names of the employees involved, and their schools or departments for use of such TDEs, and give at least five (5) but no more than ten (10) working days notice in advance of such leave. 6. The maximum number of TDEs under this section shall be one hundred (100) days. However, no more than ten

  • Professional Leave Professional leave without pay will be granted to full-time and regular part-time Nurses who are elected to the College of Nurses to attend regularly scheduled meetings of the College of Nurses. Professional leave without pay will be granted to Registered Nurses who are elected to the RNAO to attend regularly scheduled meetings. Professional leave without pay will be granted to Registered Practical Nurses who are elected to the RPNAO to attend regularly scheduled meetings.

  • Association Leave The Association shall be allowed to use up to 5 days of leave each school year for use by teachers who are officers or agents of the Association. The Association shall reimburse Unified School District 434 for the loss of use of the teacher taking such leave by paying the daily cost of a substitute teacher. The Association shall notify the Superintendent not less than 5 calendar days in advance of using such leave.

  • Association Leaves 1. The Board will provide the Association President or their designee with forty (40) days of paid release time during the course of the school year in order to conduct Association Business. The Association shall reimburse the Board for the cost of any substitute required as the result of any such released time which exceeds forty (40) days during the course of the school year. 2. The following provisions were not bargained and have been included for informational purposes only: a. Because of the many responsibilities imposed on the President of the Association, and in order to enhance the quality of instruction in the classes taught by him or her and maintain continuity, the Board will provide the building to which the President is assigned with a full-time aide who is also a certified substitute teacher. b. The building principal and the President will work out a mutually agreed upon schedule for the use of the aide. c. The presence of this aide will not be used to justify absences in excess of those authorized by the terms of this Agreement.

  • Educational Leave Leave without pay may be granted for educational leave for the duration of actual attendance in an educational program.

  • Medical Leave Pursuant to applicable provisions of the Civil Service Rules, County Code, and other law, medical leaves of absence will be granted by the employee’s Department Head upon request only upon submission of a doctor’s certificate or other satisfactory medical evidence of the employee’s need for such leave.

  • Education Leave If required by the Hospital, an employee shall be entitled to leave of absence with pay and without loss of seniority and benefits to write examinations to upgrade his or her employment qualifications. Where employees are required by the Hospital to take courses to upgrade or acquire new employment qualifications, the Hospital shall pay the full costs associated with the courses. Subject to operational requirements, the Hospital will make every reasonable effort to grant requests for necessary changes to an employee's schedule to enable attendance at a recognized up-grading course or seminar related to employment with the Hospital."

  • Professional and Education Leaves (a) Leave of absence with pay or without pay may be granted to employees to attend professional and educational meetings, courses, or other events which may be judged beneficial to the employee's professional development, especially as it relates to her responsibilities with the Employer.

  • Professional Development Leave A. Policy. Professional development leave shall be made available to employees who meet the requirements set forth below. Such leaves are granted to increase an employee's value to the University through enhanced opportunities for professional renewal, educational travel, study, formal education, research, writing, or other experience of professional value, not as a reward for service.

  • Personal Medical Leave 1. Accrued 100% sick leave may be used at the employee's discretion. Such leave may be taken before or after the vacation described in No. 3 below. 2. Accrued 75% sick leave may be used following use of all 100% sick leave at the employee’s discretion. Such leave may be taken before or after the vacation described in No. 3 below.

  • Professional Improvement Leave A teacher may be granted leave to be used for the teacher's professional improvement. Professional improvement days may be approved by the superintendent and used for the purpose of: 1. Visitation to view other instructional techniques or programs. 2. Conferences, workshops, or seminars conducted by colleges, universities, or vocational schools. The teacher planning to use a professional improvement day shall notify the principal at least one week in advance of the proposed absence. The teacher shall be required to file a written report with the principal within one (1) week of attendance at such event. Also, the teacher may/shall be requested to return with materials and/or information to be shared with other teachers. The expense of attending such visitation, conference, workshop, or seminar will be paid by the Board when the proper reimbursement applications are sent to the district office. In cases where attendance at a convention, workshop, seminar, or other educational activity is deemed to be of value only to the individual teacher, leave may be granted for attendance with either no expenses or limited expenses being underwritten by the district. In these cases, no written or verbal reports will be required.
