Attendance at Meetings and Fire Drills. (a) Any employee required to work outside the ordinary hours of work in satisfaction of the requirements for compulsory fire safety practices (e.g., fire drill and evacuation procedures), shall be entitled to be paid the "ordinary rate" for the actual time spent in attendance at such practices. Such time spent in attendance shall not be viewed as overtime for the purposes of this agreement. (b) Any employee required to attend Occupational Health and Safety Committee and/or Board of Management meetings in the capacity of employee representative shall, if such meetings are held outside the ordinary hours of work, be entitled to receive payment at the ordinary rate for the actual time spent in attendance at such meetings. Such time spent in attendance shall not be viewed as overtime for the purposes of this agreement.

In lieu of receiving payment, Employees may with the agreement of the Employer be permitted to be free from duty for a period of time equivalent to the period spent in attendance at such meetings. Such time spent in attendance shall not be viewed as overtime for the purposes of this Agreement. Any Employee required to attend Occupational Health and Safety Committee and/or Board of Management meetings in the capacity of Employee representative shall, if such meetings are held outside the ordinary hours of work, be entitled to receive payment at the Ordinary Rate for the actual time spent in attendance at such meetings. Such time spent in attendance shall not be viewed as overtime for the purposes of this Agreement, subject to the following: (a) In the case of AIN/ M or Trainee Enrolled Nurse where such meetings/ drills are undertaken outside the Employee’s rostered ordinary hours, up to 10 hours of such attendances per year may be paid at the Ordinary Rate. Such attendances that fall outside an Employee’s rostered ordinary hours and are in excess of 10 hours per year will be paid at the applicable overtime penalty rate. For the purposes of this clause "Ordinary Rate" shall be the Ordinary Rate (as defined in Clause 7) plus additional payments, as applicable, under Clause 18, Special Allowances, subclauses (i) and (ii), of this Agreement and the 25% casual loading in Clause 28(ii) - Casual Employees,.

Such time spent in attendance shall not be viewed as overtime for the purposes of this Agreement. 35.3 For the purposes of this clause "ordinary rate" shall include amounts payable under Clause 10, Salaries, and Clause 12, Special Allowances, subclauses 12.1 and 12.2, of this Agreement; plus, where appropriate, the loading prescribed in Clause 21.2, Part-time, Casual and Temporary Employees of this Agreement for employees engaged otherwise than as a full-time or permanent part- time employee.

Such time spent in attendance shall not be viewed as overtime for the purposes of this Agreement. (ii) Any employee required to attend Work Health and Safety Committee meetings in the capacity of employee representative shall, if such meetings are held outside the ordinary hours of work, be entitled to receive payment at the Base Rate of Pay for the actual time spent in attendance at such meetings. In lieu of receiving payment, employees may with the agreement of the employer be permitted to be free from duty for a period of time equivalent to the period spent in attendance at such meetings. Such time spent in attendance shall not be viewed as overtime for the purposes of this Agreement. (iii) For the purposes of this clause, where an employee is a casual, they shall also be entitled to be paid the 25% casual loading as applicable.
Attendance at Meetings and Fire Drills. (i) An employee who is required to be in attendance at occupational health and safety committee and/or board of management meetings as an employee representative shall, if such meetings are held outside the ordinary hours of work, be entitled to receive payment at the "ordinary rate" for the actual time spent in attendance at such meetings. In lieu of receiving payment, employees may, with the agreement of the employer, be permitted to be free from duty for a period of time equivalent to the period spent in attendance at such meetings. Such time spent in attendance shall not be viewed as overtime for the purposes of this Agreement. (ii) An employee in attendance at compulsory fire safety practices (e.g. fire drill and evacuation procedures) in accordance with the requirements of the Private Hospitals and Day Procedures Centres Act 1988 and the regulations thereto, shall be paid for the time spent in attendance at their "ordinary rate" where such time is concurrent or continuous with their shift on that day. Where such time spent in attendance is not continuous with their rostered shift, then the provisions of clause 9, Overtime, shall apply.

In lieu of receiving payment employees may, with the agreement of the employer, be permitted to be free from duty for a period of time equivalent to the period spent in attendance on such duties. Such time spent in attendance shall not be viewed as overtime for the purposes of this Agreement. 37.2 Any employee required to attend Occupational Health and Safety Committee and/or Board of Management meetings in the capacity of employee representative shall, if such meetings are held outside the ordinary hours of work, be entitled to receive payment at the "ordinary rate" for the actual time spent in attendance at such meetings. In lieu of receiving payment, employees may with the agreement of the employer be permitted to be free from duty for a period of time equivalent to the period spent in attendance at such meetings. Such time spent in attendance shall not be viewed as overtime for the purposes of this Agreement. 37.3 For the purposes of this clause "ordinary rate" shall include amounts payable under Clause 10 Salary and Allowance Increases and Clause 12 Special Allowances, subclauses 12.1 and 12.2; plus, where appropriate, the casual loading prescribed in Clause 22 Casual Employees.

Attendance at Meetings and Fire Drills. 7.3.1 Any employee required to work outside the ordinary hours of work in order to attend compulsory meetings or training modules, shall be entitled to be paid at the ordinary rate for the actual time spent in attendance at such meetings or training modules. In lieu of receiving payment, employees may, with the agreement of the employer, be permitted to be free from duty for a period of time equivalent to the period spent in attendance at such meetings. Such time spent in attendance shall not be viewed as overtime for the purposes of this agreement. Where possible, compulsory modules will be conducted in ordinary time. Where staff are required to travel when the training or meeting is not held at the employing facility, the staff member will be reimbursed mileage costs or agreed travelling fees. Payment for travelling time must be discussed and if appropriate, agreed between the relevant Manager and employee prior to the meeting or training taking place. 7.3.2 Any employee required to attend Occupational Health and Safety Committee and or other meetings in the capacity of the employee representative shall, if such meetings are held outside the ordinary hours of work for that employee, be entitled to receive payment at the ordinary rate for the actual time spent in attendance at such meetings. In lieu of receiving payment, employees may, with the agreement of the employer, be permitted to be free from duty for a period of time equivalent to the period spent in attendance at such meetings. Such time spent in attendance shall not be viewed as overtime for the purposes of this agreement.

For example, where applicable, overtime will be payable. In lieu of receiving payment, employees may, with the agreement of the employer be permitted to be free from duty for a period of time equivalent to the period spent in attendance at such meetings or if the time would have been paid at overtime rates the time taken in lieu will be in accordance with the time in lieu of overtime subclause 16.11. 50.2 Any employee required to attend Workplace and Safety Committee/s and/or Board of Management meetings in the capacity of employee representative shall, if such meetings are held outside the ordinary hours of work, be entitled to receive payment for the time spent at such meetings in accordance with the provisions of this agreement. For example, where applicable, overtime will be payable. In lieu of receiving payment, employees may with the agreement of the employer be permitted to be free from duty for a period of time equivalent to the period spent in attendance at such meetings or if the time would have been paid at overtime rates the time taken in lieu will be in accordance with the time in lieu of overtime subclause 16.11.
