Availability for Duty. Where an employee is on availability duty (as defined by Clause 22.11 of the Award), he/she shall be paid an, ‘Availability for Duty Allowance’ of a minimum of $100.00 per week increasing to $105.00 per week on 1 July 2006, $110.00 per week on 1 July 2008 and $115.00 per week on 1 July 2010. Companies who have superior arrangements will maintain those superior arrangements.
Availability for Duty. (a) Where an Employee is on availability duty for between 1-7 days over a 7 day period, the Employee must be paid an availability for duty allowance as set out in Appendix A and if required to work must be paid at the appropriate rate for actual time worked.
(b) For the purposes of this clause:
(i) Availability duty means that the Employee concerned must be available to the Employer by means of telephone at any time the Employee is receiving the availability for duty allowance.
(ii) Actual time worked means the time taken from leaving the Employee’s home to return thereto and in the case of a single call out, the Employee shall be paid for a minimum of two hours at the appropriate rate.
(c) Except in the case of unforeseen circumstances arising, an Employee must not be required to work the full two hours if the job they were called out to perform is completed within a shorter period.
Availability for Duty. Where an employee is on availability duty, the employee shall be paid an availability for duty allowance of (*) and if required to work shall be paid at the appropriate rate for actual time worked. The amount of the Allowance is set out in the appropriate Table of this Award.

(c) Except in the case of unforeseen circumstances arising, an employee must not be required to work the full two hours if the job they were called out to perform is completed within a shorter period.
Availability for Duty. 16.1.1 Availability for Duty shall mean that the Employee concerned shall be available to the Employer by means of telephone at all times that Employee is rostered for such duty. Should an employee fail to respond to a call within a fifteen minute period whilst they are on Availability for Duty, unless in the event of extenuating circumstances, the employee will not be eligible for the allowance.
16.1.2 Where an Employee is on Availability for Duty, the Employee shall be paid Availability for Duty Allowance in accordance with Schedule 2 of Appendix A. If required to work employees shall be paid at the appropriate rates of pay for actual time worked. In the case of a single call out the employee shall be paid a minimum of three hours.
16.1.3 Actual time worked shall mean the time taken from the Employee first receiving notification of a requirement to work until the time that the Employee has returned home after such work. Time spent travelling to and from a job will be considered time worked.
16.1.4 Any technical or, other work related phone call shall be treated as actual time worked for the purpose of this clause acknowledging the rest period shall not be provided. Incidental and/or non-work related calls shall not constitute a call-out for the purposes of this clause.
16.1.5 A rest period shall be provided to employees when attending to call outs for the actual time worked between midnight and 6am on a weekday (Monday to Friday), under the following conditions:
Availability for Duty. (On Call) ▪ Where employees are required to make themselves available for duty (On Call Roster), they shall be paid an allowance per day as follows:
Availability for Duty. (a) Should the role require, the Employee may be required to participate in the weekly rotating on-call work roster. On-call being defined as outside normal operating hours, during which the Employee must be fit for work and available to handle job-related activities and emergencies. During their rostered on-call period the employee will be responsible for remaining within a reasonable distance of their place of work and/or home so that they can provide the appropriate response. On-call employees will be paid an allowance in accordance with 7.6
(b) An employee who is on-call shall receive a weekly allowance, as specified in Appendix B 7.6, for 7 consecutive days of on-call duty. Alternatively, they may opt for a daily allowance of: I. Monday to Friday - $25.00 per day II. Saturday & Sunday - $42.50 per day III. Public Holidays- $50.00 per day
(c) An Employee who receives the on-call allowance as specified in clause

20.1.2 Where an Employee is on Availability for Duty, the Employee shall be paid an Availability for Duty Allowance in accordance with Schedule 2 of Appendix A, and if required to work shall be paid at the appropriate rates of pay for actual time worked.
20.1.3 Actual time worked shall mean the time taken from the Employee first receiving notification of a requirement to work until the time that the Employee has returned home after such work. Time spent travelling to and from a job will be considered time worked.
20.1.4 Any technical or, other work related phone call shall be treated as actual time worked for the purpose of this clause accept the rest period shall not be provided. Incidental and/or non-work related calls shall not constitute a call-out for the purposes of this clause.
20.1.5 Rest Period after Call Out Where an Employee is required to work between 12.00am (midnight) and 5.00am on a weekday (Monday to Friday) the Employee shall be provided a rest period for the actual time worked during that period, under the following condition: ▪ The rest period shall begin at the nominal start time that same day (ie Employee who normally starts work at 7.30am and, gets called out from 1.30am until 4.00am, is entitled to a rest period (without loss of pay) from 7.30am until 10.00am).
Availability for Duty. 31.2.1 Where an employee is on availability duty, the employee shall be paid an availability for duty allowance in the amount set out in APPENDIX B – ALLOWANCES, and if required to work shall be paid at the appropriate rate for actual time worked.
31.2.2 For the purpose of this clause:
(a) Availability duty shall mean that the employee concerned shall be available to the Employer by means of telephone at any time the employee is receiving the availability for duty allowance.
(b) Actual time worked shall mean the time taken from leaving the employee’s home to return thereto and in the case of a single call out, the employee shall be paid for a minimum of two hours at double time.
31.2.3 Except in the case of unforeseen circumstances arising, an employee must not be required to work the full two hours if the job they were called out to perform is completed within a shorter period.
31.2.4 Provided further that such rest period be paid at ordinary time.
