Benefits Leave. For any benefits an employee elects to retain while on leave, premiums will be paid by the Employer on behalf of the employee. The employee will reimburse these premiums to the Employer when they return to work. For the period during which the employee is participating in the SUB plan, the employee may elect to have their premiums deducted from this payment. Note: Deductions for Public Service Superannuation benefits may not be remitted while an employee is on leave. However, the employee may purchase the benefits to cover the leave of absence when they return to work. Employees do not accumulate vacation credits while on leave, but continue to accumulate seniority and service time.

Time spent on leave other than vacation may be required to be made up per program and American Board requirements. Programs are required to provide timely notice of the effect of leave(s) on the ability of the Resident to satisfy requirements for program completion.

A full-time employee’s benefits under the Ontario Health Insurance Program shall be continued during pregnancy leave of absence providing such employee arranges to reimburse the Employer for the employee’s share of the cost of such benefits. The Employer shall, during an employee’s pregnancy and/or parental leave continue to pay its portion of the benefits in which an employee on such leave was enrolled provided that the employee pays her share of such benefit premiums. This provision may be waived in writing, by the employee.

Benefits Leave. 1. Bargaining unit employees shall continue to receive the same level of medical, dental, and vision benefits, the same family forming, 401(k), FSA, commuter, Short-term disability, Long-term disability, and Life insurance benefits, and all existing time off policies, as they received and existed at the time of ratification. Such benefits shall continue to be provided on the same basis and under the same terms and conditions as existed at the time of ratification of this Agreement and shall not change during the life of this Agreement
Benefits Leave. While participating in the SUB plan, the employee will have normal payroll deductions, except contributions to the pension plan, deducted from the top up. The Employer contribution of the benefit premiums will be paid for a maximum of (15) weeks. During the of parental leave, benefits will be paid as per clause a). Employees who do not qualify for the SUB plan will qualify for benefit coverage as per clause a) and may choose to move this benefit forward to the maternity leave period but in no case for more than a maximum of thirty-seven (37) weeks.
