Committee on Political Education. The Employer agrees to deduct an amount equal to five cents ($.05) for each hour worked from the wages of each employee who voluntarily signs an authorization card.

Committee on Political Education. Upon receipt of a voluntary written individual order from any of the employees covered by this Agreement, on forms provided by the Union, the Employer will deduct from the pay due such employee a voluntary additional contribution to the Committee on Political Education (COPE). The Employer will provide the Union with a list of employees who contribute to COPE and the amounts contributed. The total amount contributed to COPE will be transmitted to the Union in a separate check made out to SEIU COPE.

These transmittals shall occur for each payroll period and shall be accompanied by a list of the names of those employees for whom such deductions have been made and the amount deducted for each such employee.
Committee on Political Education. Upon receipt of a written authorization from a bargaining unit employee, the Employer shall deduct from the wages due said bargaining unit employee the sum specified in the authorization and remit to the Chicago Teachers Union Political Action Committee (CTU PAC) Fund as the bargaining unit employee’s voluntary contribution to said Fund. The administration of this CTU PAC Fund check-off shall be the same as the dues and/or agency fee check off.

Committee on Political Education. (COPE) Contributions‌ The University agrees to deduct voluntary contributions made by CS SEs to the Union COPE and to remit said contributions to the Union in the same manner as union dues and Fair Share fees are remitted. Such contributions are strictly voluntary and can be in any amount as determined by the CS SE. COPE deduction authorization forms shall be submitted to the University and will be processed prospectively on the next feasible payroll period as determined by the University and not retroactively.
Committee on Political Education. During the term of this Agreement, the Employer will honor a written authorization signed by any Employee for the deduction of voluntary Committee on Political Education (COPE) and/or SEIU Local 517M Political Action Committee contributions to the Union. Such written authorization shall be on a form consistent with federal law and this Agreement, and shall be in accordance with the standard form submitted to the Employer by the Union. The Union shall notify the Employer, in writing, of the amount of voluntary COPE contributions to be remitted to the Union. The Employer will cause such voluntary contributions to be remitted at the same time all other monthly remittances are forwarded to the Union, together with a written statement of the names of the Employees from who deductions were made.
