COMMUNICATIONS COMMITTEE Clause Samples
COMMUNICATIONS COMMITTEE. Upon the request of the Association or the Board, the President of the Association (or the President’s designee) and the University Chancellor (or the Chancellor’s designee) shall meet at least once each academic semester to discuss matters of mutual concern. Such a Communications Committee may meet more often by mutual agreement. The Association President (or the President’s designee) may invite other bargaining unit Faculty (not to exceed four) to attend such meetings. The University Chancellor (or the Chancellor’s designee) may invite other Board representatives (not to exceed four) to attend such meetings. The number of attendees may be increased by mutual agreement. The party requesting the meeting shall submit a written agenda of the items it wishes to discuss at least five (5) days prior to the date of the meeting; this requirement may be waived by mutual consent of the President of the Association and the University Chancellor. A record of each meeting shall be prepared and distributed to each participant within ten (10) weekdays of said meeting.
COMMUNICATIONS COMMITTEE. 1. The Communications Committee was established as part of the collective bargaining agreement that was ratified in 2002. The Communications Committee has worked since its establishment to refine and improve the “Work-in-Progress Document” that serves as a guide for how the Communications Committee will function. The “Work-in-Progress Document” is intended to support the contract and to guide continuous discussions between the EAP, Board of Education, and Administration. Should a conflict be found between this contract and the “Work-in-Progress Document,” the contract shall be used for clarity and the “Work-in-Progress Document” shall be revised as necessary.
2. Purpose:
a. Provide assistance, make recommendations and enhance communication to improve the quality of education and work environment in the District by or through:
i. Creating a climate that promotes trust, collaboration and diversity.
ii. Listening and learning, both inside and outside the system iii. Encouraging and celebrating risk taking and experimentation as learning tools.
COMMUNICATIONS COMMITTEE. A. The Association is encouraged to express its opinions to the District with respect to any matter of educational concern.
B. Representatives of the District (including at least two (2) Board members and two (2) Central Office Administrators) and the Association (including at least two (2) Association Officers) shall meet monthly, September through May, for the purpose of reviewing the administration of the contract and other matters of mutual concern. Each party shall submit to the other, prior to any scheduled meeting, an agenda covering items to be discussed. Meetings will be scheduled in a mutually agreeable location. The chairperson shall alternate between a Board appointee and the Association appointee at respective meetings.
C. The building principal and the Association’s building representative(s) shall meet monthly, September through May, for the purpose of reviewing the administration of the existing contract and other matters of concern.
COMMUNICATIONS COMMITTEE. A communications committee shall be set up to discuss mutual concerns of Administration and Association. This committee shall consist of Superintendent and/or Assistant Superintendent and the electives of the Association. The committee may include others as deemed appropriate and mutually agreed upon. The functions of the communications committee will be to: • Discuss mutual concerns. • Set an agenda and call for employee meetings. • Submit suggestions for improved efficiency, effectiveness and good personnel relationships. • Discuss other items mutually agreed to as pertinent to this committee. Confidentiality will be maintained in the communications committee meetings to ▇▇▇▇▇▇ open discussions. The intent of the formation of this committee is not to affect grievance process which is stated in Article XXIII.
COMMUNICATIONS COMMITTEE. A. There shall be a Communications Committee composed of representatives for the Employer and the Union. The Communications Committee shall meet monthly for the purpose of reviewing the administration of the Agreement and other matters of mutual concern. These meetings shall be held on a monthly basis from September through May, and as needed during the summer months. The Employer and the Union shall each name a co-chairperson who shall chair the meetings on alternate months. Either party may raise or submit agenda items for the meeting. Every effort shall be made to schedule meetings after working hours.
B. If the Committee meets during the regular work hours of a Union representative, he/she will be released from duties to attend the meeting without loss of pay.
C. The Communications Committee is not intended to bypass and/or take the place of the formal grievance and/or negotiations procedures.
COMMUNICATIONS COMMITTEE. The REA has established guidelines for a committee for the purpose of providing a continuing means of communication between the faculty and administrators, so that topics of mutual interest, such as school policy, professional ethics, curriculum, school activities, welfare, and rights and responsibilities may be discussed on a regular basis.
COMMUNICATIONS COMMITTEE. A. A “Communications Committee” shall be comprised of the following: the Superintendent, all classified supervisors, two Board members, the OAPSE President, and a representative from each job category (Cafeteria, Custodial, Bus Driver, and Secretary). The committee will meet a minimum of three times throughout the course of a school year: early October, early February, and late May. The committee will discuss pertinent school matters such as professional development, working conditions and other matters that will be in the best interest of the school system.
COMMUNICATIONS COMMITTEE. The Communication Committee will meet no less than four times per school year in order to discuss issues involving both the Association and Administration/Board of Education. The Committee will be comprised of up to six (6) GESSA members and up to four (4) members of the Administration. By July 1 of each year the Association and the Administration will agree to a minimum of four (4) meeting dates to be scheduled during the upcoming school year. Both the Association and the Administration agree that the spirit of the committee is to ▇▇▇▇▇▇ ongoing communications. The Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources and a President of GESSA will be responsible for the meeting agenda.
COMMUNICATIONS COMMITTEE. The Communications Committee will meet to discuss issues impacting both the Association and Administration/Board of Education. This committee will also participate in conversations regarding general operations and long-term strategic planning of the school district. The goal is for this committee to serve as a resource for both the Association and the Administration/Board of Education. The Committee will be comprised of:
1. Eleven (11) members appointed by the Superintendent or designee;
2. Eleven (11) members appointed by the GESSA Executive Committee; and
3. The Committee may utilize additional district employees as a resource to provide the Committee with information it needs to accomplish its mission. The Committee will be charged with the following responsibilities:
