Such absences will not be approved on days 6 immediately before or immediately after a District calendared holiday 7 unless the employee notifies the appropriate manager at least forty- 8 eight (48) hours in advance and provides the job number and the name 9 of the person who has been confirmed to substitute for them. 10
11 b. Where possible, and with the exception of (7) above, employees shall notify 12 the site manager not later than 2:00 p.m. on the day prior to the workday when 13 leave is to be taken.
Compelling Personal Reasons. Any principal who has completed one (1) full year of service in the Matanuska-Susitna Borough School District may be granted a leave of absence without pay for other compelling personal reasons. Requests for leave of absence for reasons of illness must be accompanied by a doctor’s statement. Requests for leaves of absence for compelling personal reasons must be accompanied by a statement of justification.

Compelling Personal Reasons. The District shall request displacement services, and through the Personnel Commission, may offer services to all bargaining unit members being laid off. Such services shall be offered exclusively by the Personnel Commission and may consist of, but not be limited to, assistance in identifying skills and interests for other employment, test-taking skills, administering tests to determine qualification in other job classifications, resume writing and interviewing skills, and information regarding employment opportunities outside of the District.
Compelling Personal Reasons. Three (3) days maximum for compelling personal reasons. Generally, unit members shall not be required to secure advance permission for leave taken for any of the following reasons unless conditions and circumstances warrant such permission:
i. Death or serious illness of a member of his/her immediate family.
ii. Accident involving his/her person or property, or the person or property of a member of his/her immediate family.

Compelling Personal Reasons. In granting time off for compelling personal reasons, the Company will use its best efforts to see that discrimination between employees is avoided. Such time off will be without pay. Personal Leaves are limited to a maximum of ninety (90) calendar days in any twenty-four (24) month period.
