Daily and Weekly Hours of Work Full. Time and Part-Time The hours of work shall be seven and one-half (7%) not including a one- half hour unpaid meal daily It is mutually understood that the statement of the normal hours of work herein is not a guarantee that work will be provided, nor that the departmental schedule of hours of work will not be changed as found necessary by the Hospital in the interest of efficiency or economy. The Hospital will not change hours of work on a day to day basis for the purpose of avoiding overtime. The regular full-time employee work week shall average not more than thirty- seven and one-half (37 %) hours for each employee during a period; No regular full-time employee shall work more than ten 0) working days in a bi- weekly period without overtime compensation; Except in the case of an emergency (an exclusive of the effect of an exchange of shifts between two (2) employees for personal convenience), no employee shall be scheduled to work more than seven (7) consecutive days without being given two (2) or more days off work. No employee should be required to work a split shift. Casual employees shall be offered work on an equal opportunity basis on their All schedules shall be posted four (4) weeks in advance, and cover a period of no less than two (2) weeks. Overtime is not payable until an employee works in excess of a seven and one- half (7%) hour shift. It is understood normal hours including those required to accommodate the change from Day-Light Savings Time to Standard Time and vice versa to which the other provisions of the Articles dealing with Hours of Work and Overtime do not apply. It is further understood that the amount of regular pay for a full normal shift worked shall not be affected by reason of the change in the number of normal hours worked in consequence of such change from Daylight Savings Time to Standard Time and vice versa. The provisions of the Article are intended only to provide a basis for calculating time worked and shall not constitute a guarantee of hours of work per shift or per week or for any period whatsoever nor a guarantee of working schedules.
