00 - HOURS OF WORK. 14.01 The Employer does not guarantee to provide work to any employee for regularly assigned hours or any other hours, except as provided for in Article 18.00. Eight (8) hours shall constitute a normal day of work. The normal hours of work shall be between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. for an eight (8) hour day, with one-half or one hour for lunch at the midpoint of the shift. Forty (40) hours shall constitute a normal week's work, Monday through Friday inclusive. Variances beyond one (1) hour of 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. shall be agreed mutually between the Employer and the Business Manager. The one (1) hour variance is conditional upon the Employer giving the Union and affected employees appropriate advance notice. If the foregoing starting or quitting times are changed without mutual agreement, applicable overtime rates shall be paid for any time worked before or after the above hours as a result of the change of the times.
00 - HOURS OF WORKAn employee’s scheduled hours of work must be confined within a period of 12 consecutive hours in any one work day. Hours of work are established for each position as identified by the individual departments according to their varying needs. The normal hours of work for full time employees shall be: - 35 hours per week – 7 hours per day, or - 37.5 hours per week – 7.5 hours per day, or - 40 hours per week – 8 hours per day. Paid time off, and unpaid leave pursuant to Article 3.04.1, shall be considered hours worked for the purposes of this Article.

00 - HOURS OF WORKNotwithstanding Article 14:01, the following provisions will apply to all Full Time Employees employed in ES and replaces the applicable sections in the Collective Bargaining Agreement: (1) (a) The Employer has the ability to implement eight (8), ten (10) or twelve (12) hour shift schedules for Primary Care Paramedics, Advanced Care Paramedics, Platoon Trainers, Equipment/Vehicle Technicians and the Lead Equipment/Vehicle Technicians. Regular hours of work for Full Time Employees will be eighty (80) hours bi-weekly, on a seven (7) day per week, twenty-four (24) hour per day rotation, and averaged over a twelve (12) week period. The regular work week shall be in accordance with a rotating schedule drawn up by the Employer.

For Compressed Work Weeks the Employer may vary the start/quit times by changing the scheduled starting time up to thirty minutes at their option. Variances beyond thirty minutes shall be agreed mutually by the Employer and the Business Representative of the Union. A variance in start/quit times shall be applied consistently on the job site and in no circumstances shall split shifts be created unless mutually agreed to between the Parties. If the foregoing starting or quitting times are changed without mutual agreement, applicable overtime rates shall be paid for any time worked before or after the above hours as a result of the change of the times.
00 - HOURS OF WORK. 18:01 (1)(i) The normal work week for all Employees, except Employees of the Plants Section, shall consist of five (5) eight (8) hour days from Monday to Friday inclusive, for a total of forty (40) hours per week. The normal work day shall not commence before 8:00 a.m. nor finish later than 4:30 p.m. No eight (8) hour Shift shall be spread over a period longer than eight and one-half (8 ½) hours, with one-half (½) hour off for lunch. 18:01(1)(ii) Notwithstanding Article 18:01(1)(i), Employees in keeping with the immediate efficiency of operation may have their Unpaid Lunch Period adjusted by their Immediate Supervisor to be any thirty (30) consecutive minute period to commence between 11:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. (11:00 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. for Employees who are regularly employed in the Plants Section, except Regular Shift Employees). 18:01 (1)(iii) Article 18:01(1)(i) shall not apply to the job classification of Building Maintenanceperson, Xxx Xxxxxx Square. Rather, the normal hours of work shall be for eight and one-half (8½) consecutive hours including a one-half (½) hour unpaid meal break, and may be between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. from Monday to Friday, and is expressly understood that overtime (Article 19:00) and shift premiums (Article 20:00) shall not apply to these regular hours of work.
00 - HOURS OF WORK. 27.01 Subject to the exceptions noted in this article, and permitted by Article 31.00 - Shift Work, the regular work day and regular work week for full-time Employees shall be six and one-half (6 1/2) hours and thirty-two and one-half (32 1/2) hours respectively, exclusive of meal breaks. 27.02 The work week of thirty-two and one-half (32 1/2) hours shall usually be five (5) days per week from Monday to Friday inclusive with two (2) consecutive days off and with a minimum of one-half (1/2) hour for a meal break. An employee may be scheduled by the Employer for a regular work week other than Monday to Friday and other than between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. 27.03 Each Employee shall be entitled to one fifteen (15) minute break period in each half shift which shall be scheduled in accordance with operational requirements. 27.04 Nothing herein contained relating to the work week, work day, hours of work, overtime or vacations shall apply to non-clerical Employees of the University presently working in excess of thirty-two and one-half (32 1/2) hours per week in the following departments: 1. Division of Family Medicine 2. University Health Services 27.05 The work week of thirty-two and one-half (32 1/2) hours may occasionally be extended for equal time off in some other work week, at a supervisor's or Employee's request, if agreed upon by both parties. 27.06 Excluding overtime and emergencies, all Employees shall be given a minimum of ten (10) working days' notice of a change in their regularly scheduled hours of work. 27.07 The Employer agrees that any Employee whose regular working conditions are such that s/he must change her/his clothes to perform her/his job will be granted ten (10) minutes at the end of her/his shift to change and wash. 27.08 If an Employee is required to travel between campuses during their working hours, the Employer shall provide transportation where appropriate. 27.09 The Employer shall select at least two (2) days in the period between Boxing Day and New Year's Day to be observed by all members of the bargaining unit as scheduled days off without loss of pay. In the event that an Employee is required to work on any of these days s/he shall be entitled to equivalent time off in lieu thereof without loss of pay. Such time off shall be by mutual agreement but failing this, the Employee shall be granted such time off with pay immediately following her/his annual vacation. 00 - HOURS OF WORK. 9.01 The regular hours of work for all full time employees covered by this Agreement shall be thirty-six (36) hours per week and the regular hours shall not be reduced during the term of this Agreement. The employer agrees to notify the Union at least two (2) weeks in advance of any proposed changes in the regular hours of operation of the branch and to discuss with the union such proposed changes, and agrees to discuss such changes at a Labour/Management Committee Meeting if possible. 9.02 All hours worked outside of a 7.5 hour per day for full time, when authorized by the Supervisor, shall be paid for at time and one-half the employee’s regular rate of pay unless by mutual agreement. For part time all hours worked outside of a 36 (thirty six) hour work week shall be paid for at time and one-half the employee’s regular rate of pay unless by mutual agreement. There shall be no pyramiding of overtime and payment of overtime will only be paid once for any hour worked. The Employer shall pay a shift premium of $1.00 per hour for hours worked after 8 p.m. 9.03 An employee required to work more than two (2) hours beyond the end of the regularly scheduled full-time shift shall be paid a meal allowance of Ten Dollars ($10.00) or the Employer shall bring in food at their discretion. 9.04 Closing hours for Christmas Eve and New Years Eve, when worked, shall be 3:00 p.m. Lunch periods for employees shall be reduced to one-half hour on such days. 9.05 The Employer shall be required to post the schedule for at least two (2) week periods for all employees normally scheduled listing days and hours no later than noon on the Monday of the work week preceding each such successive two (2) week period. Employees will be given twenty-four (24) hours’ notice of change in schedule except in an emergency, such as an employee(s) calling in sick or other unscheduled absences. 9.06 Call-In - An employee called to work a day which is not a regularly scheduled work day shall receive a minimum of three (3) hours pay at the regular rate. (a) It is agreed and understood that opening and closing a Branch is part of the Sales Advisor duties, and in the absence of a Manager, a Sales Advisor may be responsible for opening/closing a branch with no additional pay. Only when a Branch Concierge is clearly assigned by a manager or due to an unplanned absence, will the additional open or close pay apply at the rate $7.50, per open or close.
