DAILY CALL-IN. 10.01 Employees shall be called in the order of their seniority within their classification. However, where an Employer has more than one yard, although the employees shall be called in order of their seniority, the Union agrees that an employee with less seniority who has been called in may commence work in one yard prior to a senior employee commencing work in another of the Employer's yards, but a junior employee shall not commence work prior to a senior employee in the same yard.

DAILY CALL-IN. Employees who are unable to work and are requesting sick leave must notify the designated person at SMHA at least one-half hour prior to their scheduled starting time on each day of absence, unless earlier authorization has been given. An employee may be excused from the daily call-in requirement in cases of hospitalization, or other circumstances where a long- term absence is expected. In such cases, the employee shall keep SMHA informed as to the expected return-to-work date.

During the day the process will be “the first truck back to the plant will be the first truck loaded and released to the customer”. A senior man may be sent home before a junior man during the balance of a work shift, except however, where a junior man and a senior man are in the yard or at the plant at the same time and both are available for work, the senior man shall not be sent home before a junior man until he has had eight ( 8 ) work that day.
DAILY CALL-IN. Notification An employee absent on paid injured leave must report his/her status to the Police Station by calling-in no later than one (1) hour prior to his/her regular starting time. Such employee must disclose the nature of his/her duty related illness, injury or disability. An employee is not required to report his/her location or leave a telephone number nor shall such employee be confined to his/her home while on injured leave. The Department shall not telephone or visit an employee on injured leave at his/her home for the purpose of verifying his/her presence.
