Definition of a Layoff. ‌ All layoffs shall be done in reverse order of seniority provided the employees remaining have the ability to properly perform the assigned duties. The Employer shall provide basic orientation and/or training to an employee if the employee requires it to perform the duties of the position, but in such case Article 12.4 will apply. It is understood that the Employer must show just reasons for any layoff that is not in reverse order of seniority.

Definition of a Layoff. The parties recognize that a layoff shall be defined as a reduction in hours greater than ten percent (10%) of an employee’s regularly scheduled hours per pay period and provided such reduction is greater than seven and one-half (7½) hours per pay period.
