Release Time for Association Representatives. Upon written notice of the Association president, a total of ten (10) days leave with full pay shall be provided for representatives of the Association to transact business or to attend I.E.A. or N.E.A. professional meetings. Time blocks of half days or more will be granted upon request. The Association will reimburse the school district for the cost of the substitute teacher.
Release Time for Association Representatives. A. The President or other representatives of the UNION will be released with pay to attend hearings or proceedings involving the UNION and the DISTRICT. The UNION will submit requests for release time as far in advance as is feasible, specifying the meetings to be attended. The UNION shall be reasonable in requesting such absences and the DISTRICT shall be reasonable in approving such requests.
B. The President and representatives of the UNION shall use accrued vacation time, personal time, or take time off without pay to attend state meetings and conferences held by the UNION. The UNION will submit requests for release time as far in advance as is feasible.
Release Time for Association Representatives. The District shall provide up to a total of twenty (20) days of release time with pay for Association representatives to attend state meetings, provided the Association pays for the substitutes. Additional days needed for an Association member to serve on state or national committees may be granted by the Superintendent upon written request of the Association.
Release Time for Association Representatives. Any Association representative who is scheduled by the District or mutually by the Parties to participate during work hours in grievance proceedings, conferences, or meetings with representatives of the District shall suffer no loss of pay.

Exclusive of the President, the combined total number of leave granted under the provision shall not exceed one hundred (100) hours per year. No more than ten (10%) percent of the Employees at any one worksite will be approved at a single time, provided any fraction shall be rounded off to one. Every effort will be made by the Employee to notify his/her Supervisor at least three (3) days prior to requesting association release time.

Time necessary for the president of the Association and/or his/her representative(s) to attend NYSUT and/or AFT conferences and/or AFL-CIO conventions shall be granted with pay and not charged to sick or personal days to a total of ten (10) work days per year.

Meet and Confer: City employees who are official representatives of the Association shall be given reasonable time off with pay to attend meetings with management representatives to discuss matters within the scope of representation, or to be present at hearings where matters within the scope of representation or grievances are being considered. The use of duty time for this purpose shall be reasonable and shall not interfere with the performance of City services as determined by the City. Preparations for negotiations shall not occur on duty time. Such employee representatives shall submit a written request for excused absence to the Chief, with an information copy to the City Manager, at least two (2) working days prior to the scheduled meeting whenever possible. Except by mutual agreement, the number of employees excused for such purposes shall not exceed two (2).

Association Board Members or others as designated in writing as official representatives by the Association Board, shall be allowed a reasonable period of time without loss of compensation for the sole and exclusive purpose of conducting transactions of the Association. Said amount of time shall not exceed two (2) hours per day for each Board member or designee and a combined aggregate not to exceed six (6) hours per fiscal year for all such Board members and others designated by the Board, provided every reasonable effort is made to conduct Association meetings and/or business on non-duty time. Permission to attend Association meetings on duty must by obtained forty-eight hours in advance from the Police Chief or designee. Permission to conduct Association business or attend Association meetings is conditioned upon field and/or assignment conditions and shall not interfere with the normal course of assigned job duties or department conditions.
Release Time for Association Representatives. Release time for Association representative(s) for labor related litigation with the Board (NJ PERC, Office of Administrative Law, NJ Courts, Arbitration) shall not exceed a total of five (5) days per year. Notification to the Superintendent must be made forty-eight (48) hours in advance, emergencies excepted.
Release Time for Association Representatives. 1. There will be a duty-free schedule (except homeroom) for all Association officers and all duly elected Association head representatives as follows: two (2) at each high school, one (1) at each middle school, and one (1) at each elementary school.
2. At the middle school, the Head Building Association Representative will have a duty- free schedule. However, when the duty is a team meeting, the Association Representative will be permitted to be excused a minimum of two (2) meetings per week for Association-related business. If necessary and with administrative approval, additional time may be granted; in addition, the middle school Association Representative will be exempt from a homeroom or bus supervision assignment.
3. At the elementary level, the Head Building Association Representative will not be assigned bus supervision or duty assignment.
4. If a non-certificated employee holds the position of Head Building Representative the employee shall receive an additional 15 minute break (daily) to conduct association business.
5. A total of thirty (30) days per three-year contract without loss of pay shall be granted to the Association for use by any of its officers or authorized representatives to attend conventions, conferences, institutes, hearings, meetings, or other events that pertain to Association business. No one representative shall be permitted to use more than four (4) Association days per contract year. Prior notification of these days shall be made to the Superintendent by the Association President.
