Design Charrette. We will hold a design charrette with the leaders and the users of the new facility to hear firsthand how the users intend to operate the facility and get their insight into building layouts and site functionality based upon the programming and needs assessment data. Teams will be made of users and design team to work through pre-made building and site components to lay out a site. Teams will then present their findings at the end of the session explaining the basis for their layouts. Site Layouts and Concept DesignThe design team will utilize the information created from the design charrette and apply engineering and architecture principles to test and develop working solutions for 2 sites. Site plans will include utilities, grading, paving and general landscaping. Along with site plans basic building footprints and massing will be developed with primary features such as entrances drive thru service x x xxxx in sufficient detail to derive budget cost information and functionality with the site. These design documents will then be utilized to estimate development cost for each of the sites. Each site will be presented to the stakeholders for review and evaluation based upon the goals and objectives determined in the Kickoff Meeting. Design Charrette. The TDG Team will arrive at the second charrette prepared to review our preliminary recommendations with the ATAC and CAMPO Project Manager. Day 2 of the charrette will involve follow up meetings to review draft recommendations/ concept plan with invited stakeholders through the focus groups, and get answers to questions. Day 3 will involve additional focus group discussions, followed by a pin up of recommendations with CAMPO staff and the ATAC. Following the staff pin up, the public will be able to review the working materials during a public open house. The charrette will culminate with an interactive public open house where the community is invited to weigh in on the draft concepts and provide input, helping the team arrive at a preferred set of recommendations. Day 3 of the charrette will be used to finalize direction with stakeholders, the ATAC and CAMPO Project Manager. The Team will host a pin up where the ATAC and CAMPO are invited to review the draft final products and provide input. This will be followed by a public open house where the public can review the work products developed to date. On Day 4, the design team will incorporate comments on the draft final products, and develop concept plan materials for the final public meeting. This highly interactive meeting will take place in the evening on the last day.

This session will explore various options for cross section and intersection treatments, consider trade-offs regarding the interaction of safety, operations, and design, facilities to serve all modes, as well as identify opportunities to meet the overall project needs. Design Charrette. Charrette Day 1: Visioning and Preliminary Site Planning During the first day of the charrette, the P.U.M.A Team will present the critical findings of the existing conditions analysis and input received from staff, stakeholders, and working group meetings/interviews prepared in Task A and C, including an overview of existing land uses and circulation conditions, projected economic and market analysis as well as how the future multimodal infrastructure may be developed over time. After a discussion on the existing conditions, we will concentrate on defining the community’s vision for the downtown and surrounding neighborhoods, and to provide a strong foundation for developing plan and design solutions that support that vision.
Design Charrette. After award, the Contractor must visit the site and conduct interviews, and problem solving discussions with the designated FAA personnel, to acquire all necessary site information.
