Elementary Job Sharing Leave. Voluntary elementary job sharing will be permitted with the following guidelines: 1. Job sharing teachers will request a “job share leave” annually. 2. Job sharing in which two teachers share one full time position will be voluntary, with each teacher working a .5 FTE contract. 3. All benefits shall be prorated at .5 FTE, including PERSI and insurance benefits. 4. Job sharing teachers shall be required to pay for the other portion of their insurance premium. 5. Job sharing will be allowed only between two renewable contract teachers within the same building and only with the approval of the Principal (and director, if applicable). 6. Job shares will have an additional annual evaluation and shall include indicators such as the ability of the individuals to maintain a positive learning environment for students and maintain a positive working relationship with each other, the building administrator and staff. 7. A job share proposal must be submitted by March 1, which shall include, at minimum: A. How the job share will be organized (semester, half days, or 3/2, 2/3, 2½/2½). B. Understanding that job sharing teachers must attend all teacher conferences, collaboration time, professional development and building meetings as required by the Principal. Teaming and district committees shall not be negatively affected by a job sharing situation. C. Understand that, in the event one of the partners is absent, a substitute will be hired. D. How parent input into class assignments will be managed. E. How particulars of the specific position will be managed. F. How conflict between the individuals will be managed. G. How dissolution will be managed within legal parameters and District regulations. Identification of who gets which position shall be stated in the application. 8. Each job sharing renewable contract teacher who has previously been a full-time renewable contract teacher has a right to a full-time position, if available. Notice of intent to return to a full-time position must be given to the Human Resources Department by March 1. It is not the intent of the job share provision to cause a Reduction in Force (RIF) situation anywhere in the District. The return from a job share to a full-time position cannot and will not result in another teacher losing his/her position due to a Reduction in Force. 9.   • Child Rearing Leave Subd. 1 Child rearing leave of absences shall be available to teachers for a period of time, not to exceed twelve (12) calendar months, for the purpose of caring for a newborn infant or pre-school adopted child for which the applicant has the legal responsibility for the care and/or support of said child. Such leave may be taken subsequent to birth of the teacher's child, or in the case of adoption, when the child is physically turned over to the teacher-parent. a. At least two (2) calendar months prior to the estimated delivery date of the child, the employee shall be required to notify the Employer in writing whether or not the employee intends to take child rearing leave. This election may be changed at any time before the teacher is no longer disabled from working due to childbirth or pregnancy related disability or before the fifteenth (15th) day after the birth of the child, whichever is sooner. b. Upon filing an application for adoption of a pre-school child, the employee shall be required to notify the Employer, in writing, of the teacher's intention to take a child rearing leave. Such notice to include the estimated date when such leave shall become effective. Subd. 3 In connection with the election to take child rearing leave, the teacher shall submit a request for such leave in writing. Such request shall include an estimated commencement date and return date. The estimated commencement date shall be the physician's projected date the teacher will no longer be disabled from teaching due to childbirth or pregnancy related disability, or in the case of an adoption, the agency's estimated date when the child will be turned over to the parent. Subd. 4 In making the final determination under Subd. 3 concerning the duration of a child rearing leave of absence, the Employer shall not be required to grant a leave of absence in excess of two (2) semesters. The actual commencement date of child rearing leave shall be the date on which the teacher is no longer disabled due to childbirth and pregnancy related disability as determined by the physician; or, in the case of an adoption, the date when the child is physically turned over to the teacher-parent. The return date shall be twelve (12) calendar months following the actual commencement of the leave except as may be provided in Subd. 7.

  • BEREAVEMENT/TANGIHANGA LEAVE 18.1 The employer shall approve special bereavement leave on pay for an employee to discharge any obligation and/or to pay respects to a deceased person with whom the employee has had a close association. Such obligations may exist because of blood or family ties or because of particular cultural requirements such as attendance at all or part of a tangihanga (or its equivalent). The length of time off shall be at the discretion of the employer. 18.2 If a bereavement occurs while an employee is absent on annual leave, sick leave on pay, or other special leave on pay, such leave may be interrupted and bereavement leave granted in terms of 18.1 above. This provision will not apply if the employee is on leave without pay. 18.3 In granting time off and for how long, the employer must administer these provisions in a culturally sensitive manner.

  • JOB SHARING North Bay; Perth-Huron; Peterborough, Victoria & Haliburton; Sarnia- Lambton Taking into consideration the fact that the Employer wishes to retain well- qualified staff who are unable or prefer not to provide a full-time commitment and the job-sharing can enable this to happen, the parties agree to the following provisions: (a) Job-sharing requests with regard to full-time positions shall be considered on an individual basis, and the Employer shall reserve the right to determine the appropriateness of such arrangements, including the number of job-shared positions after discussions with the Union at the Labour Management Committee. (b) Any incumbent full-time Nurse wishing to share their position may do so without having their half (½) of the position posted. The other half (½) of the job-sharing position will be posted, and selection will be in accordance with the Collective Agreement. (c) Save and except as provided for herein, all job-sharers shall be treated as part-time employees and shall receive percentage in lieu of benefits. (d) If one (1) of the job-sharers leaves the arrangement, their position will be posted. If there is no successful applicant to the position, the shared position must revert to a full-time position. The remaining Nurse will have the option of continuing the full-time position or reverting to a part-time position for which they are qualified. If they do not continue full-time, the position must be posted in accordance with the Collective Agreement. (e) Posted schedules for the job-sharers shall be based on the schedules that would apply to a full-time Nurse holding that position. Such schedule shall conform to the scheduling provisions for full- time. (f) Total hours worked by the two job-sharers shall be equal to one full- time position. The division of these hours over the schedule shall be determined by mutual agreement between the two Nurses and the immediate Supervisor. This does not exclude the Nurses from opportunities for extra available work. (g) Each job-sharer may exchange shifts with their partner, as well as with other Nurses in accordance with the Collective Agreement, provided such exchange creates no additional labour cost to the Employer and meets continuity requirements. (h) It is expected that both job-sharers will cover each other’s absences including incidental illnesses and vacation. If, because of unavoidable circumstances, one cannot cover the other, the Supervisor must be notified to book coverage. Job-sharers are not required to cover for their partners in the case or prolonged or extended absences but may be offered the opportunity to do so. (i) Job-sharers will not be required to work in total more paid holidays than would one full-time Nurse, unless mutually agreed otherwise. Job-sharers will have the right to determine which partner works the scheduled holidays. (j) Either party may discontinue the arrangement with one month’s written notice and the employees shall revert to their former status without posting if such positions are still available. 14.14 Christmas/New Year’s Xxxxxxxxxxxx, Xxxxxxxx & Haliburton

  • Paid Bereavement Leave An employee who is absent from work due to the death of a member of his/her immediate family (spouse, sibling, child, parent, parent-in-law, grandparent, grandparent-in-law or domestic partner) may use up to three (3) days of paid bereavement leave each school year.   • Paid Sick Leave For those jurisdictions that have passed or will pass legislation requiring Paid Sick Leave, Paid Sick Time will be billed back to Client at the straight-time bill rate for all hours taken by any Consultant assigned to Client.   • Child Bonding Leave A prospective father, spouse, domestic partner or adoptive parent is entitled to child bonding leave of up to six (6) months, within one year of the qualifying event. Child bonding leave runs concurrently with FMLA and CFRA. The scheduling of child bonding leave (either on FMLA or CFRA) on an intermittent basis and/or requests for a reduced work schedule are subject to mutual agreement by the employee and the Agency/Department Head as allowed by law. An employee may elect to take accrued vacation or compensating time off during the period of child bonding leave, except that in the case of an employee who is regularly scheduled to work less than the normal full-time work week for the classification, paid leave shall be granted only for those days, or fractions thereof, on which such an employee would have worked but for child bonding leave. The use of sick leave during child bonding leave shall not be permitted unless the employee is otherwise eligible to use it as provided in Section 11. Reinstatement subsequent to child bonding leave of absence shall be to the same classification from which leave was taken and the Agency/Department Head shall make its best effort to return such employee to the same geographical location, shift, and where there is specialization within a classification, to the same specialization. Questions as to whether or not the Agency/Department Head has made its best effort herein, shall not be subject to the grievance procedure.

  • Volunteer Firefighting Leave Leave without pay will be granted when an employee who is a volunteer firefighter is called to duty to respond to a fire, natural disaster or medical emergency.

  • Military Caregiver Leave The employer shall grant an employee who is a family member of a covered service member an unpaid leave of up to twenty-six (26) weeks (inclusive of the twelve (12) weeks granted under 1. above) in a single twelve (12) month period to care for the covered service member who has a serious illness or injury incurred in the line of duty on active duty.
