CONTRACT TEACHERS. Teachers who are contracted to work one hundred twenty (120) or more days shall be granted three (3) days per year subject to Section 8.
CONTRACT TEACHERS. 12.01 No one will be employed on a contract basis for teaching duties in elementary or secondary schools under the jurisdiction of the GNWT Department of Education, Culture & Employment of the Northwest Territories.
12.02 Notwithstanding 12.01, the Employer may employ on contract any person to instruct trades, cultural, religious or aboriginal language programs other than those that are normally part of the regular school program.
12.03 Term teachers may be hired to meet operational requirements including:
a) As principals;
b) As replacements for teachers on approved leave;
c) In relation to programs, other than the regular school program, that are of a fixed duration or without ongoing funding;
d) Where a position is, or becomes, vacant after the start of the current academic year. The Employer will not use term teachers to avoid the probationary process.

12.04 At the start of the school year and after the Christmas break, the Employer will provide the NWTTA with a listing of term teachers and the reasons for the terms. A representative of the Department of Education, Culture and Employment and the President of the NWTTA will meet to discuss any anomalies and address them.
CONTRACT TEACHERS. (TAFE Digital)
40.1 This clause establishes the general conditions of employment, including hourly rates of pay, which are specific to Contract Teachers employed at TAFE Digital.
40.2 In addition to the qualifications for appointment the Teaching By Distance (TBD) is the pre entry requirement.
40.3 Rates of Pay -
40.3.1 There shall be a single contract teaching rate. The rate of pay for Contract Teachers is linked to the hourly teaching duties rate for Part time Casual Teachers as follows: Teaching Duties Rate for x 2 x 25 = $ per unit Part time Casual Teachers 3 60
40.3.2 This formula reflects the parties' agreement that the marking of each unit of work shall be allocated 25 minutes.
40.3.3 The rates of pay for Contract Teachers are set out in Schedule 6. These rates are inclusive of all incidences of employment except for long service leave as provided under the Long Service Leave Act 1955.

CONTRACT TEACHERS. The Perry Board will issue limited contract teachers, contracts of lengths that correspond to the interval of years in which the teachers are evaluated under this policy. For example, a limited contract teacher that will be evaluated every two (2) years, would be given a two-year limited contract. For an Employee employed for a specific period of time in a specific teaching assignment due to a vacancy of known duration (i.e., long-term substitute Employee), the work agreement will automatically expire at the close of said period without need for Board action to non-renew. Limited contract teachers during the first year of employment whose regular teaching contract the Board intends to non-renew shall be notified by the Superintendent not later than the 1st day of June that they will not be recommended to the Board for rehiring for the next school year. Prior to Board action on their contract, such teachers shall have the right to meet with the Board in executive session with representation to present their case. Limited contract teachers that the Board intends to renew after their first year and have met all of the expectations in the Ohio Standards for the Teaching Profession will be notified by the Superintendent and afforded the conditions covered under Article XI-I (1) Removal of Poorly- Performing Teachers below. Limited contract teachers that the Board intends to renew after their first year but may not have met expectations in one (1)or more of the Ohio Standards for the Teaching Profession will not be afforded the conditions covered under Article XI-I (1) of Removal of Poorly-Performing Teachers below. This determination will be made by the Superintendent, with the consultation of the PCTA President. Such teachers after the completion of their second year will either fall under Article XI-I (1) of Removal of Poorly-Performing Teachers provision for the remainder of their employment as limited contract teachers, or will be notified by the Superintendent not later than the 1st day of June that they will not be recommended to the Board for rehiring for the next school year. Prior to Board action on their contract, such teachers shall have the right to meet with the Board in executive session with representation to present their case.
