Field Trip Assignments. Field trips will be posted on a yearly calendar and will be assigned to the most senior driver on a seniority rotation. A list of drivers in order of seniority will be posted with assigned trips. Furthermore, a bus driver must be both available and eligible to be assigned a field trip. A bus driver’s availability is based on his/her responsibilities to any position currently working within the school district that occur during the driver’s normal working shift(s). A bus driver’s home-to-school and/or school-to-home bus route is his/her primary responsibility; a driver’s secondary responsibility is to any paid district position he/she serves in (for example, though not exclusive, a position of Noon Duty Supervisor, Instructional Aide, or Child Nutrition Services Worker). In order to be eligible to be trained and considered for field trip assignments, a bus driver must have logged at least seven hundred (700) hours of driving time transporting students for a school district.
Field Trip Assignments. 1. Each Friday, drivers will be offered all field trips for the next week. Field trips shall be defined as any activity involving fourteen (14) students and drivers on vehicles of the Poland Local School District. For District sponsored athletic trips that require 2 vans, the second van will be open to the regular bidding process (i.e., cannot interfere with driver regular route), excluding overnight trips and all club sports. If a driver is not available, certified coaches shall drive the second van.
2. Field trips will be divided into two classes: full time and part time. All trips will go to full time drivers when full time drivers are available. Remaining trips will go to part time contract drivers.
Field Trip Assignments. A list of drivers who wish to be considered for field trip assignments shall be developed and posted at the beginning of each school year. Drivers may notify the Director of Transportation in writing that they wish to be considered for the field trip assignments and/or the short notice trip assignments. The aforementioned written notification shall be submitted no later than the close of business on the last working day of the first full week of the school each year. Such written notification shall allow drivers to deviate from their contract time, as needed, to accommodate assigned field trips.
Field Trip Assignments. For overnight, weekend, and extended day field trips NPS nurses shall be given the opportunity to accept the assignment. The District will make every reasonable e$ort to provide as much advanced notice of the trip as possible. Only in the event that all NPS nurses fail to accept the assignment may the District use the services of a non-district nurse for the field trip.
