Filing Vacancies. Amend Item (1) by deleting the sentence which reads: “If there is a lay-off in one (1) work unit, and there is an opening in another work unit, the Company will call in the laid-off employee prior to hiring anyone else in that classification, at the laid-off employee’s same salary for three (3) months from the date of entry into his new classification.”
Filing Vacancies. When the Employer decides to fill a vacant position, it shall post a notice for seven working days on the bulletin board where employee notices are typically posted and sent to all bargaining unit employees via electronic mail at least seven days prior to the posting period expiring. The notice shall state the position’s title, shift, location, and rate of pay. To be considered, all interested bargaining unit employees with at least three months of continuous service must submit an application by the time and date stated on the posting. Nothing in this Agreement shall infringe upon the Employer’s right to seek applicants from outside the current workforce or advertise vacancies in any manner it deems appropriate. No position shall be filled nor shall any employee be moved to a different classification or shift without using the above procedure.
