FIRE PREVENTION AND PROTECTION. A fire alarm system shall be established aboard the vessel with an activator in the Forward Weld Shop/Bow Thruster Room access, Forward Pump Room Mezzanine, Engine Room Main Deck at CCS and at each gangway. Each alarm activator and speaker shall be distinctive in sound so that the alarm can be heard clearly in every area where work is being performed throughout the vessel. A Provision shall be made stating when the alarm is sound, the fire control organization of the Contractor is notified. Within one (1) day of installation, the Contractor shall perform a fire alarm test in the presence of the COR and representatives of the vessel’s crew. Contractor shall at a minimum, schedule and perform weekly tests of the fire alarm system throughout the period of performance of this job order. The vessel’s fire main shall be supplied with shore water of sufficient pressure and volume to ensure all firefighting stations are fully operational at all times. Should any scheduled tasks preclude the use of the vessel’s fire system, the Contractor shall provide pressurized fire system connection points in affected areas. Contractor shall provide a minimum of five (5) charged fire lines at various locations on deck with hoses for immediate use. Contractor shall invite the local fire department to a fire prevention conference aboard the vessel no later than three (3) days after arrival. The purpose of this conference shall be to establish a liaison, review the fire protection plan, gain familiarization of the vessel, and establish firefighting procedures and responsibilities. Contractor’s fire protection plan shall consist of, but not be limited to:
a) Name, type and location of the vessel and shipyard;
b) Duration of time the vessel shall be in Drydock /Graving Dock and at wet berth;
c) Response procedures;
d) Xxxxxxx practice, including size and location of vessel’s force duty watch;
e) Vessel security requirements;
f) Method of transmitting a fire alarm signal from the vessel to the fire department;
g) Nature of work to be accomplished;
h) Expected vessel status, including equipment access cuts, type and location of temporary services, location and means of operating vessel’s communication, and fire main systems;
i) Water supply to the vessel, including type and location of fire pumps, location of hydrants, pumper suction hydrant connections, and where installed, fireboat connections;
j) Pumper drafting locations;
k) Communications between command post, shipyard fire pumps...
FIRE PREVENTION AND PROTECTION. The Principal Contractor must ensure that adequate fire equipment is provided in strategic places (that is, where there is a mobile distribution board, flammable liquids, pressure equipment, confined spaces, hot work). The Principal Contractor must ensure that such equipment is inspected by a competent person on a monthly basis and such inspections are recorded on a register. The Principal Contractor must ensure that all fire equipment is serviceable and person(s) have been professionally trained on how to use the equipment. A proof of such training must be provided prior commencement of construction work.
FIRE PREVENTION AND PROTECTION. A. State and municipal rules and regulations with respect to fire prevention, fire-resistant construction and fire protection shall be strictly adhered to and all work and facilities necessary therefore shall be provided and maintained by the Contractor in an approved manner.
B. Provide fire protection equipment such as water tanks, hoses, pumps, extinguishers, and other materials, and apparatus, for the protection of the contract work, and adjacent property. Trained personnel experiences in the operation of all fire protection equipment and apparatus shall be available on the site whenever work is in progress, and at such other times as may be necessary for the safety of the public and the work.
FIRE PREVENTION AND PROTECTION. 46.1 The Contractor shall perform all Work in a fire-safe manner. He shall supply and maintain, on the site, adequate firefighting equipment capable of extinguishing incipient fires. The Contractor shall comply with applicable Federal, local and State fire prevention regulations and where the regulations do not cover, with applicable parts of the National Fire Prevention Standard for "Safeguarding Building Construction Operations", (NFPA No. 241).
FIRE PREVENTION AND PROTECTION. 3.21.1 Contractor is responsible for all cutting, fitting, or patching required to complete the Work or to make its parts fit together properly.
3.21.2 Contractor shall implement and enforce fire protection and prevention measures in accordance with all federal, state and local governmental agencies and in accordance with the following requirements:
FIRE PREVENTION AND PROTECTION. The Contractor shall provide an orientation to all employees on fire prevention and protection IAW the Installation SOP.
FIRE PREVENTION AND PROTECTION. The County shall enforce Chapter 93: Fire Prevention and Protection, of the Chatham County Code of Ordinances, within the corporate limits of the Town of Pittsboro and its extraterritorial jurisdiction.
FIRE PREVENTION AND PROTECTION. The Contractor and his or her employees shall comply with the AF base’s regulations and Air Force Occupational and Safety, and Health (AFOSH) Program, as applicable. A copy of these regulations will be made available by the COR POC at the post-award conference. The Contractor shall coordinate with the AF base fire department for hot permits (for welding or open flame operations), as required.
FIRE PREVENTION AND PROTECTION. The SCT shall comply with all fire prevention measures prescribed in the installations fire regulations, a copy of which is on file in the office of the Contracting Officer. A written fire permit shall be obtained from the installation fire protection shall be obtained from the installation fire inspector for use of an open flame or devices, such as blow torches, portable furnaces, portable heaters, tar kettles, or gas and electric welding or cutting equipment in, or within 15 feet of the building. The SCT may be liable for any loss of Government property attributed to negligence on the part of the SCT, including failure to comply with fire prevention measures prescribed by the terms of this contract.
FIRE PREVENTION AND PROTECTION. The Contractor shall ensure all contractor employees are trained in Fire Prevention and comply with the requirements stated in applicable DoDIs and in AR 420-90. Training consists, at a minimum, of the location and operation of fire alarms. The Contractor shall coordinate with the Picatinny Arsenal Fire Department (PAFD) and Safety Directorate for compliance with fire prevention procedures and additional training requirements. Installation fire prevention personnel may conduct periodic inspections for regulation compliance. Unauthorized burning of any material on the installation by the Contractor is prohibited. The contractor shall ensure Fire Prevention requirements are flowed down to subcontractors.
