Full-Time Union Duties. The Employer shall grant, on written request, leave of absence without pay for employees selected for a full-time position with the Union for a period of up to one year.

Full-Time Union Duties. Leave of absence without pay for full-time Union employment shall be granted the following conditions: a) In the event that an employee becomes a full-time official of the Union, they shall be granted leave of absence for the purpose of carrying out the duties of their office and shall retain their seniority with the Employer as if they had remained in continuous employment therein. They shall have the right at any time upon giving one (1) months’ notice, to return to their previous position or to such other position to which they may be promoted by reason of seniority and ability. Such leave of absence shall be granted for a period not exceeding one (1) year. Should appointment extend beyond one year, the employee and the City may agree to an extension by mutual agreement. b) Such an employee shall make contributions to all employee benefits participating in currently. Contributions to these benefits shall be based on earnings during this full-time of employment with the Union paying the Employer's portion, making due allowance for changes in their marital status and number of dependents. c) Any person hired to fill a vacancy created by an employee becoming a full- time Union official, shall be temporary for the first year.
Full-Time Union Duties. (a) The Employer shall grant, on written request, leave of absence without pay for employees selected for a full-time position with the Union or an affiliate of the Union. On returning, the employee shall be eligible to return to his/her former position with the Employer at the point of assembly nearest his/her residence. (b) Further, the employee shall be permitted to transfer laterally from the point of assembly nearest his/her residence or go directly to another point of assembly, if a vacancy exists in the appropriate classification. This option is limited to two years from the date the employee becomes eligible to return to work. (c) Where an employee elects to transfer to another point of assembly, there shall be no additional cost to the Employer.
Full-Time Union Duties. The Employer shall grant, on written request, leave of absence without pay to no more than one employee in the bargaining unit at any given time: (a) For employees selected for a full-time position with the Union or any body to which the Union is affiliated for a period of one year; (b) For an employee elected to the position of President or Secretary-Treasurer of the B.C. Government and Service Employees' Union, the leave shall be for a period of two years and shall be renewed upon request. (c) For employees to seek election in a municipal, provincial, or federal election, for a maximum period of 90 days; (d) For employees elected to a full-time federal, or municipal office for a maximum period of five years. Seniority shall be maintained while on such leave and no benefit entitlement shall accrue while on such leave.
Full-Time Union Duties. It is agreed that any employee who is elected or selected for a full-time position with the Union or any body with which the Union is affiliated may be granted leave of absence, upon receipt of a written request, without pay and without loss of seniority by the Employer for a period up to one (1) year, and shall be reviewed each year on request during his or her term of office. Such leave of absence shall not be withheld unjustly.
Full-Time Union Duties. The Employer will grant, on written request, leave of absence without pay or accrual of seniority: (a) For employees selected for a full-time position with the Union or any body to which the Union is affiliated for a period of one (1) year (such leave will be renewed upon request by the Union).
