Victoria Day Christmas Day (December 25) Canada Day (July 1) Boxing Day (December 26) Two (2) float days The two (2) float holidays will be mutually scheduled between the Employer and the employee. It is understood that float holidays will not be granted during the period of December 15 to January 15. It is further understood that an employee may not bank float holidays in order to take them together. No more than one float holiday may be taken at a time. Application must be made in writing to the employee’s Supervisor two (2) weeks in advance of the designated date, if possible. Under normal circumstances, an employee will receive the day off with pay. However, if an employee is required to work on their designated holiday, they will receive their holiday pay plus one and one-half (1½) times their applicable rate for all hours worked. In a full-time employee's first calendar year of full-time employment, the float holidays will be prorated. All Full-time Employees hired on or after July 1 of any year will be entitled to one (1) float holiday.
