HIGHER GRADE DUTIES. (i) An employee who is called upon to relieve an employee in a higher classification or is called upon to act in a vacant position of a higher classification shall be entitled to receive for the period of relief or the period during which they act the minimum payment for such higher classification.
(ii) The provisions of subclause (i) shall not apply where the employee being relieved is absent from duty for a period of three consecutive working days or less which have been rostered in advance.
HIGHER GRADE DUTIES. 10.1 Subject to subclause 10.2, an Employee who is called upon to relieve an Employee in a higher classification or is called upon to act in a vacant position of a higher classification shall be entitled to receive for the period of relief or the period during which they act the minimum payment for such higher classification or higher position.
10.2 The provisions of subclause 10.1 shall not apply where the period of relief or the period of acting in the higher grade is less than one shift. Further, the provisions of subclause 10.1 shall not apply where a Director of Clinical Services is absent from duty for a period of three (3) working days or less for any reason.
HIGHER GRADE DUTIES. (a) If an employee is required by the employer to relieve in role which is classified at a rate above that applicable to the employee’s regular position, the employee will be paid at an appropriate rate proportionate to the duties that the employee is required to perform whilst relieving.
(b) If an employee is required to perform all of the duties of the position that the employee is relieving, then the employee shall be paid at the appropriate rate for the position so relieved.
(c) If an employee is only required to perform certain specified duties of the position that the employee is relieving, then the employer will identify the extent of those duties relevant to the total duties of the position being relieved, to be expressed as a percentage. The employee, whilst so relieving, will receive a proportionate payment based on the difference between the employee’s ordinary rate of pay and the rate of pay relevant to the position being relieved. For example, if an employee performing higher grade duties is required to perform half of the duties of a position, then the employee will be paid an amount equal to 50% of the difference between the employee’s ordinary rate of pay and the rate of pay relevant to the position being relieved, for the time spent relieving.
HIGHER GRADE DUTIES. 6.1 An Employee who is called upon to relieve an Employee in a higher classification or is called upon to act in a vacant position of a higher classification shall be entitled to receive for the period of relief or the period during which they act the minimum payment for such higher classification.
6.2 The provisions of clause 6.1 shall not apply where the period of relief or the period of acting in the higher grade is less than one shift.
6.3 Further, the provisions of sub clause 6.1 shall not apply where a Director of Nursing is absent from duty for a period of three working days or less for any reason other than clause 4, Hours of Work and Free Time of Directors of Nursing of the Award.
HIGHER GRADE DUTIES. 29.1 An employee who is called upon to relieve an employee in a higher classification or is called upon to act in a vacant position of a higher classification shall be entitled to receive for the period of relief or the period during which they act the minimum payment for such higher classification.
29.2 The provisions of subclause 29.1 shall not apply where the employee being relieved is absent from duty by reason of his/her allocated day off duty.
29.3 The provisions of subclause 29.1 shall apply where the period of relief or the period of acting in the higher grade is greater than one shift.
HIGHER GRADE DUTIES. The substantive occupants of these positions will be replaced on a needs basis, and shall paid in accordance with Clause 18. Higher Grade Duty of the Award.
HIGHER GRADE DUTIES. 20.1 An employee who is called upon to relieve another employee in a higher classification or act in a vacant position for a period of not less than 5 days in a higher classification shall have his or her base salary increased to the base salary of the higher classification for the period of relief.
20.2 An employee who is called upon to act in a vacant position of a higher classification for a period greater than 3 months shall be entitled to receive the base salary and allowances payable under this Agreement applicable to the higher classification for that period. Provided that persons acting in the roles of Senior Base Engineer shall receive the base salary and allowances prescribed by this agreement and not an individual package applicable to the usual incumbent of the position in accordance with Clause 16.13.

38.1. An Employee required by Xxxxxxx to act in a position at a higher grade for a complete shift will be entitled to be paid for the shift at the applicable rate of pay in Schedule A: Rates of Pay.
38.2. In the case of an emergency, a manager may approve higher grade duties for a period less than a full shift. For example, due to illness or unforeseen circumstances.
HIGHER GRADE DUTIES. 2.9.1 An employee employed for two or more hours on any one day on duties carrying a higher rate than the employee’s ordinary classification must be paid the higher rate for such day. If for less than two hours the employee must be paid the higher duties for the time worked
2.9.2 An employee that carries out higher duties on an ongoing basis and whose higher grade duties make up more than one half of their regular weekly hours can request to have their ordinary classification reviewed.
HIGHER GRADE DUTIES. 12.1 An employee who is called upon to relieve another employee in a higher classification or act in a vacant position in a higher classification shall have his or her Base Rate of salary increase by 10% for the period of relief.
12.2 An employee who is called upon to act in a vacant position of a higher classification for a period greater than 3 months shall be entitled to receive the full remuneration applicable to the higher classification for that period.
12.3 The provisions of clauses 12.1 and 12.2 shall not apply where an employee in a higher classification is absent from duty on a rostered day off, and another employee is called on to relieve in the higher classification. However, in these circumstances, where the RFDS agrees that the employee who usually occupies the higher classification will not be contactable during the period of the rostered day off, then the employee who is called upon to relieve in the higher classification may be paid in accordance with clause 12.1.
