Defence Force Reserve Leave. 15.14.1 Council resolved to participate in the scheme of the active support of the Reserves of the Defence Force of Australia. 15.14.2 This organisation encourages enlistment in the Defence Force Reserves. Council recognises that Reserve service is of national importance, is an economical method of providing Defence Forces in peacetime and can be a valuable addition to employee development within the organisation. 15.14.3 Unpaid leave not exceeding two weeks in any one year will be granted to employees who are members of the Defence Force Reserves for the purpose of undergoing training in camp or equivalent continuous duty. This leave will normally be in addition to annual holiday leave. 15.14.4 Special consideration will be given to an employee requiring leave for Reserve military training purpose in excess of 10 working days in any one year. 15.14.5 Except in unusual circumstance military leave granted under this policy will be treated as unbroken service when calculating annual leave, long service leave and sick leave or any other entitlements. 15.14.6 Employees occupying residences will pay normal rental during their absence.

Defence Force Reserve Leave. 49.1. An employee may be granted leave of absence of up to four weeks without pay to enable the employee to fulfil Australian Defence Force (ADF) Reserve and Continuous Service (CFTS) or Cadet Force obligations.
Defence Force Reserve Leave. 52.1 Unpaid leave to attend obligatory Reserve Force training may be granted at the discretion of the General Manager. The employee must give the Company adequate notice. 52.2 The employee should attach the Defence Training Notice to the leave application. At the completion of the training, the employee shall give the employee’s Supervisor a certificate of attendance signed by the employee’s Commanding Officer.
Defence Force Reserve Leave. 6.18.1 Principals who are members of the Defence Force Reserve may access leave with pay to attend periods of required training offered in normal working hours (such as but not limited to camps, field exercises or required courses) up to a maximum of 10 calendar days during term time each school year. 6.18.2 In addition to the above, a further 14 calendar days leave with pay may be accessed during term time in a teacher’s first year of reserve service, where attendance at recruitment or initial training is required. 6.18.3 The Principal is required to forward to the employing authority any monies or allowances paid by the Defence Force for their attendance at camps, courses or other training whilst on periods of leave with pay during term time, where additional staffing costs have been incurred by the employer to cover their absence. 6.18.4 The Principal shall not be disadvantaged in terms of accrued entitlements during absence on leave with pay for this purpose. 6.18.5 Wherever possible, the Principal should schedule their attendance at Defence Force Reserve activities during school vacation periods. In this case, the Principal is not required to reimburse the employing authority any monies or allowances paid by the Defence Force for their attendance. 6.18.6 Any further Principal absence due to Defence Force Reserve Leave activities in term time will be approved as leave without pay and any monies or allowances paid by the Defence Force shall be retained by the employee.

Teachers who are members of the Defence Force Reserve may access leave with pay to attend periods of required training offered in normal working hours (such as but not limited to camps, field exercises or required courses) up to a maximum of 10 calendar days during term time each ATO financial year. In addition, a teacher may access an additional 22 calendar days paid leave during term time each ATO financial year, after the initial qualifying period has been paid by the employer, provided that the employer receives a payment for the employee absence under the Employer Support Payment Scheme (Defence Reserves Support) or howsoever named. b. In addition to the above, a further 14 calendar days leave with pay may be accessed during term time in a teacher’s first year of reserve service, where attendance at recruitment or initial training is required. The teacher is not required to forward to the employing authority any monies or allowances paid by the Defence Force for their attendance at camps, courses or other training whilst on periods of leave with pay during term time. The teacher shall not be disadvantaged in terms of accrued entitlements during absence on leave with pay for this purpose. c. Wherever possible, the teacher should schedule their attendance at Defence Force Reserve activities during school vacation periods. d. Any further teacher absence due to Defence Force Reserve Leave activities in term time will be approved as leave without pay.
Defence Force Reserve Leave. If you are a member of the Australian Defence Force Reserves you will be given 2 weeks leave each year to meet your compulsory training camp obligations with the Defence Force Reserves. This leave will be granted with make-up pay covering the difference between your normal ordinary hours salary under this Agreement and the pay you receive from the Defence Force Reserves. The GMHC must approve leave. As soon as you become aware of the dates of your training camp you should advise the GMHC and provide any material from the Commanding Officer of your unit advising of dates of the training camp. In considering your request for leave the GMHC will take into account the operational requirements of your work area, the timing of the leave, any other leave you have taken during the preceding 12 months and the degree to which the proposed training might maintain or enhance the skills and/or knowledge that you use in your job role with the GMHC. Leave granted in accordance with this clause will count as service for all purposes.
Defence Force Reserve Leave. In respect of absence from duty for the purpose of attending obligatory periods of naval, military or air force training if You are a member or become a member of the Defence Force Reserves, You may be granted leave of absence without pay (as You are recompensed for this leave by the Defence Force) for attendance at annual obligatory periods of continuous training in the calendar year as follows: (a) Naval Reserve ‐ up to a total of 26 days (including Saturdays and Sundays) in any one calendar year (b) Army Reserve ‐ up to a total of 30 days (including Saturdays and Sundays) in any one calendar year (c) Air Force Reserve ‐ up to a total of 30 days (including Saturdays and Sundays) in any one calendar year (d) In addition to the number of days shown above, a further 4 days may be granted on certification by the Commanding Officer of the particular service unit that the additional days are required for this purpose.

Defence Force Reserve Leave. If you have Australian Defence Force Reserves, Continuous Full Time Service (CFTS) or Cadet Force obligations, you may be granted leave (with or without pay). Defence Force Reserve leave counts as service for all purposes, except for unpaid leave to undertake CFTS, which counts as service for all purposes except annual leave accrual. Under the Defence Reserve Service (Protection) Act 2001, you are eligible for up to four weeks paid leave each financial year, with additional paid leave of up to two weeks in your first year to meet training and induction requirements. With the exception of the additional two weeks in the first year of service, paid leave can be accumulated and taken over a period of two years. If you are an officer or instructor in a Cadet Force, you may be granted paid leave of up to three weeks each financial year to perform duties as an officer or instructor of cadets.
Defence Force Reserve Leave. (a) The Employer supports Caregivers who are members of the Australian Defence Force (ADF) Reserves and may grant leave without pay for up to ten working days in each calendar year. Such leave will not break continuity of service. (b) The Caregiver will provide the Employer at the earliest practicable opportunity, with written ADF notification of the training or activity together with an application.
