Hot-Weather Plan. The members of Joint Health, Safety and Environment Committee of Ventra Group Inc. have prepared a hot-weather plan to ensure that workers are protected from excessive heat exposure. The JHSC will be involved and participate in the Go-Fast Plan. Stage 1 This will be implemented when the thermostat indicates a reading of 92.1 degrees Fahrenheit. This stage will be implemented by area. All employees in the applicable areas shall work a maximum of sixty (60) minutes from the start of shifts and the end of lunches and breaks, and then be provided a fifteen (15) minute break in lieu of their regular scheduled breaks. This procedure will continue so long as the reading remains 92.1 degrees Fahrenheit or above. Once the reading drops below 92.1 degrees Fahrenheit, employees will return to their regular scheduled breaks. If employees have worked from the start of their full shift at temperatures above 92.1 degrees and the temperature does not drop below 92.1 degrees before the end of the shift, then the relief break scheduled will continue to the end of the shift.

Hot-Weather Plan. In accordance with the current procedure developed by the Joint Health and Safety Committee, the parties agree that in response to extreme temperature humidex readings, such responses may include extended or additional rest periods and increased fluids, fans or other methods to alleviate heat stress and/or improve air circulation, supplied by the Company. The Company will meet with the Union in April of each year to discuss requirements. Employees who become ill due to heat prostration may be transported for medical treatment and will be excused from work with full pay if the employee sought medical treatment and the attending physician acknowledges and verifies with documentation supporting a work-related illness.
Hot-Weather Plan. 1. The Joint Health & Safety Committee shall receive a maximum of two (2) hours training on the Hot Weather Plan on an annual basis. The Company will acquire the necessary Humidex recording instruments and train the JHSC in how to operate such equipment.

Hot-Weather Plan. When an Environment Canada Humidex issues an advisory, a notice will be posted in four (4) areas of the plant and the Hot Weather Plan will be put into place. This plan will commence once the Humidex Advisory is issued/announced and the plan will be in effect for the balance of that date and include, but not be limited to the following:  Cold drinks for employees including electrolyte replenishing drinks;  Additional breaks in air conditioned rest areas;  Popsicles/freezes to be provided;  Increased air movement with fans.  Employees are expected to attend work and to perform work, as required. However, if an employee still suffers from heat sickness, even after the Hot Weather Plan is put into effect, the employee will be allowed to leave the plant. Any leave requests with the Notation “Left Early, Sick Heat” will not be considered as an Emergency Leave of Absence (ELOA) Day. Absences due to heat will be monitored and if abuses to this procedure are experienced, then such individuals will be required to document their absence and further absences may result in discipline. The Union Committee will counsel such employees regarding the abuse to avoid further abuse and the issuance of discipline. The Company may, on a qualifying day for a holiday, require an employee who must leave the plant due to illness as a result of the heat, provide medical note justifying such absence. In May and the end of July each year, the Joint Health & Safety Committee, Plant Chair, Skilled Trades Representative and Human Resources Manager will meet to discuss the effectiveness of the Hot Weather Plan.   • Hot Weather Guidelines For the purposes of site based discussions regarding the need to plan and perform work during expected periods of hot weather, the following issues shall be considered in conjunction with proper consideration of Occupational Health and Safety issues.

  • Bargaining Unit Layoff List/Same Classification If a Bargaining Unit Layoff List/Same Classification is to be used, selection shall be made from among qualified employees whose names appear on the list; or

  • Wet Weather In the event of wet weather, work in the open will continue until the particular work in hand can no longer be done safely and efficiently. Whilst it is raining, employees will be required to: Continue to work under cover or relocate to alternative work under cover, on site. Obtain materials and services for employees working under cover where there is only minimal exposure to inclement weather. When required, perform emergency and safety work. In addition, work on unexpected breakdowns, which can be corrected in limited time duration. Should a portion of the project be affected by wet weather, all other employees not so affected shall continue working in accordance with award conditions, regardless that some employees may be entitled to cease work due to wet weather. If a halt to productive work occurs due to inclement weather, the parties agree that employees may be relocated to other unaffected sites. Where the above steps are not possible, affected employees may be required to attend tool box meetings, work planning sessions or skills development activities, all of which will count as productive time for payment purposes.

  • Switching System Hierarchy and Trunking Requirements For purposes of routing ECI traffic to Verizon, the subtending arrangements between Verizon Tandem Switches and Verizon End Office Switches shall be the same as the Tandem/End Office subtending arrangements Verizon maintains for the routing of its own or other carriers’ traffic (i.e., traffic will be routed to the appropriate Verizon Tandem subtended by the terminating End Office serving the Verizon Customer). For purposes of routing Verizon traffic to ECI, the subtending arrangements between ECI Tandem Switches and ECI End Office Switches shall be the same as the Tandem/End Office subtending arrangements that ECI maintains for the routing of its own or other carriers’ traffic.
