Illness during. Where an employee is sick or injured on a rostered day or shift off the employee shall not be entitled to sick pay for such day and nor shall the employee's sick pay entitlement be reduced as a result of the employee's sickness or injury on that day.

Illness during. Where an employee qualifies for sick leave, with pay, during his period of vacation, there shall be no deduction from vacation credits for such absence. The period of vacation so displaced shall either be added to the vacation period or reinstated for use at a later date, by mutual agreement. Employees will be expected to provide proof of illness during vacations by way of a letter from a doctor.

  • Illness During Vacation (The following clause is applicable to full-time employees only) Where an employee's scheduled vacation is interrupted due to serious illness, which either commenced prior to or during the scheduled vacation period, the period of such illness shall be considered sick leave. Serious illness is defined as an illness which requires the employee to receive on-going medical care and/or treatments resulting in either hospitalization or which would confine the employee to their residence or to bed rest for more than three days. The portion of the employee's vacation which is deemed to be sick leave under the above provisions will not be counted against the employee's vacation credits.

  • Bereavement During Vacation Where an employee's scheduled vacation is interrupted due to a bereavement, the employee shall be entitled to bereavement leave in accordance with Article 12.04.   • Work During Vacation Should an employee who has commenced his scheduled vacation and agrees upon request by the Hospital to return to perform work during the vacation period, the employee shall be paid at the rate of one and one-half (1-1/2) times his basic straight time rate for all hours so worked. To replace the originally scheduled days on which such work was performed, the employee will receive one (1) vacation lieu day off for each day on which he has so worked.
