Overtime Penalties. 4.5.3.1 All employees working authorised overtime shall be paid an additional 50% penalty (time and a half) of their base rate for the first two (2) hours and 100% (double time) thereafter. 4.5.3.2 Rostered employees called upon to work between midnight and 7 a.m. shall be paid an additional 100% (double time) penalty of their base rate. 4.5.3.3 Overtime shall be calculated to the nearest quarter hour and thereafter in quarter hour units; 4.5.3.4 In calculating overtime eligibility, each day shall stand alone.

Overtime Penalties. (a) Where more than one penalty applies to time worked, the highest penalty only will be paid. (b) All time worked by: (i) a Full Time Employee in excess of eighty (80) Standard Hours in any fortnightly cycle; or (ii) a Part Time Employee in excess of their agreed Standard Hours in any fortnightly cycle; shall be paid at the rate of time and a half. (c) Where a change to the posted roster, of which at least 48 hours’ notice has been given, extends the length of a shift then no overtime shall be payable by reason of that extension unless the extension causes the rostered hours worked in the fortnightly cycle to exceed or further exceed eighty (80) hours, not including hours paid as additional hours. (d) All time worked as additional hours Monday to Friday shall be paid at the rate of time and a half. (e) All additional hours worked on a Saturday or a Sunday shall be paid at the rate of double time. (f) Where an employee is called upon to work additional hours or rostered overtime during the employee's Rostered Day Off the employee shall be paid at the rate of double time for that overtime worked, but not for any Standard Hours rostered between 0000 and 0400 on a Rostered Day Off.

Payment for such overtime shall be at double time. (iii) The ordinary hours of seven-day shift workers shall not exceed (a) 8 hours in any day; nor (b) 70 hours in 14 consecutive days.

Overtime Penalties and Minimum Payment Overtime worked in any calling in or in connection with which more than one shift per day is worked, will be paid for at the rate of double time. For all employees engaged in shift work, all time worked in excess of eight (8) hours in any one day will be considered as overtime. Employees who work overtime during an afternoon or night shift will be paid double time on their afternoon or night shift rate respectively. Shift Workers who are rostered on to work on a statutory holiday will be paid at double time and one half (2 ½ times) of their base rate of pay and any overtime is paid at double the applicable overtime rates that is four (4) times the base rate. For those shift workers who are not rostered to work on a statutory holiday and subsequently perform work on that day will be paid at double time and one half (2 ½ times) of their base rate with a minimum payment for four (4) hours for the day and will receive a day of leave to be taken at a mutually agreeable time in the same manner as annual leave.
