Interaction with Other Leave Entitlements. (a) An Employee proceeding on unpaid Maternity Leave may elect to substitute any part of that leave with accrued annual and/or accrued Long Service Leave.
(b) Where annual and/or Long Service Leave is substituted that leave will form part of the 52 weeks’ Maternity Leave entitlement.
(c) An Employee proceeding on unpaid Maternity Leave may elect to substitute all or part of that leave with time off in lieu of overtime and/or accrued days off to which the Employee is entitled subject to the provisions Clause 18 - Hours of Work and Clause 22 - Overtime.
(d) Personal leave is not payable on a period of paid or unpaid Maternity Leave.

Where annual and/or long service leave is substituted that leave shall form part of the fifty- two (52) weeks’ maternity leave entitlement. An Employee proceeding on unpaid maternity leave may elect to substitute all or part of that leave with accrued time off in lieu of overtime or flexi leave to which the Employee is entitled subject to the provisions of clause 22 – Flexitime; clause 23 – Overtime and Leave in Lieu for Employees; clause 24 - Time in Lieu While travelling on Official Business – Level 6 Officers and Below; and Clause 25 - Committee Travel Time for Hansard Reporters of this General Agreement, where applicable. Personal leave is not payable on a period of paid or unpaid maternity leave.
Interaction with Other Leave Entitlements. If personal leave is granted to the employee annual leave will be re-credited for the period of paid personal leave granted. Subject to the approval of the head of service, an employee who is on unpaid leave may be granted annual leave during that period, unless otherwise stated in this Agreement. If an employee is prevented from attending for duty under the Public Health Act 1997, the head of service may grant annual leave during that period.
Interaction with Other Leave Entitlements. An application by an employee for long service leave or annual leave during a period that would otherwise be an unpaid period of birth leave will be granted to the extent of available entitlements. Subject to subclause F4.40, an application by an employee for personal leave during a period that would otherwise be an unpaid period of birth leave will be granted subject to the employee providing a certificate from a registered medical practitioner or registered health professional operating within their scope of practice to the extent of available entitlements.
