Maternity Leave Entitlement Sample Clauses

Maternity Leave Entitlement. (a) All employees are entitled to 26 weeks’ ordinary maternity leave followed by 26 weeks’ additional maternity leave, giving a total of 52 weeks’ continuous leave, ‘the maternity leave period’. (b) Maternity leave shall commence no earlier than 11 weeks before the EWC, or from the day following childbirth if that is earlier. Within 28 days of receipt of the initial notification the employing authority will write to the employee informing them of the last day of their maternity leave and the expected date of their return.
Maternity Leave Entitlement. (a) All employees are entitled to ordinary maternity leave of 26 weeks duration. (b) At the discretion of the authority the employee may be allowed leave with or without pay in excess of the 26 week period. (c) Employees who have 26 weeks’ continuous local government service at the end of the 15th week before the expected week of confinement are entitled to a further 26 weeks of additional maternity leave, a total of 52 weeks’ maternity leave. (d) Maternity leave shall commence no earlier than 11 weeks before the EWC, or from the time of childbirth if that is earlier. Within 28 days of receipt of the initial notification the employing authority will write to the employee stating the expected date of return from maternity leave.
Maternity Leave Entitlement a) A staff member who is the birth mother of a newborn child is entitled to seventeen (17) consecutive weeks of maternity leave without pay, beginning no earlier than eleven (11) weeks before the expected birth date, and no later than the actual week of the birth. b) Further maternity leave without pay, of up to six (6) consecutive weeks, will be granted where the staff member is unable to return to work for reasons related to the birth, as certified by a medical practitioner. Where the pregnancy is terminated, the staff member is eligible to apply for sick leave under Article 17.
Maternity Leave Entitlement. The birth mother is entitled to 17 consecutive weeks maternity leave of absence from the University. The leave can commence up to 11 weeks before the expected birth date, but no later than the actual birth date.
Maternity Leave Entitlement. (a) Employees who have less than one year’s continuous service at the beginning of the 11th week before the EWC will have an entitlement to remain absent for up to 18 weeks. At the discretion of the council the employee may be allowed leave without pay in excess of the 18 week period. (b) Employees who have completed at least one year’s continuous service at the beginning of the 11th week before the EWC will have an entitlement to 18 weeks’ leave of absence with pay (see para 9.5 below) and to remain absent for up to 29 weeks from the beginning of the week in which childbirth occurs. (c) Maternity leave will commence no earlier than 11 weeks before the EWC.
Maternity Leave Entitlement. All eligible employees, including eligible casual employees, are eligible for unpaid maternity leave up to a maximum of 52 weeks which must include a period of leave of 6 weeks starting from the date of birth of the child, in respect of the birth of a child. The period of maternity leave will be less than 52 weeks if the employee, or the employee’s spouse, takes any other related authorised leave such as authorised paternity leave. If an employee takes special maternity leave she will be required to provide her employer with: ▪ An application for special maternity leave stating the first and last days of the maternity leave; and ▪ If the employee has a pregnancy related illness – a medical certificate confirming the illness and that the employee is unfit to work; or ▪ If the employee’s pregnancy has ended – a medical certificate and a statutory declaration. This is required to be provided to the employer before or as soon as reasonably practicable after starting a continuous period of leave including the special maternity leave. The employee will be entitled to a period of special maternity leave as set out in the medical certificate.
Maternity Leave Entitlement. A birth mother shall be entitled to maternity leave without pay for a period not to exceed fifteen (15) weeks. During the first six (6) months of pregnancy, such employee shall apply in writing for maternity leave, including advice to the Deputy Commander Operations of the estimated delivery date and date of commencement of maternity leave. Maternity leave shall commence at the time designated by the employee, within twelve (12) weeks of the estimated delivery date, except under circumstances in 31.03 below. During such maternity leave, the employee shall be entitled to accumulate service and seniority which includes incremental pay steps and/or next service based classification.
Maternity Leave Entitlement. A pregnant female employee shall cease working at least 8 weeks prior to the date of confinement, and shall return to work not later than 12 weeks after the date of the child’s birth.
